Stop Making Trade Offers!

Is anyone else having issues with too many trade proposals? I'm getting flooded with them and I have Trading Frequency set to average, don't have any real team weaknesses, and haven't identified any team needs. Is this me or is it an issue?

the game seems to always off tons of trades that make no sense to me. And when i ask for a star in return they get insulted. Certainly wish when they offer me Bucky Dent for Stan Musial i could return the insult message back to them.

i just ignore them, or ask for like top 5 draft picks and their entire starting rotation ... that usually make that team go away for a while.

I have a new policy on these ridiculous trade offers.

Every time I get one, I run another scan to try to snipe an underappreciate asset from their farm system. I have gotten good at this and started to feel a bit bad about it, but hey, two can play that game.

I've gotten used to the ridiculousness. It's just now I'm getting one or two a day, where it used to be a handful a month.

How odd. Sure you don’t have a team need listed? It’s the only way I can provoke that many inquiries.

I WISH I would go back to them offering me junk for my top guys. Those at least I can just reject and ignore right in the inbox, like the spam they are. And sometimes you at least get info about what they are interested in.

Now 90% of my PMs are "Would you be interested in <X player/prospect that I won't trade unless you give me your entire farm system and your left kidney>? Let's discuss the details."

These are utterly pointless, and a waste of time as you have to go try a few things before realize it is futile.

This isn't something that is difficult to program around, at least to avoid the very worst offers. Basically, compare how the team values the guy being offered against the player's top rated player or prospect. If the GM would say something like "that's an insult" then don't offer that player.

Just delete them without opening or responding. That seems to work for me.

This will happen if you have a missing position. Make sure you are changing the players assigned position in their settings if you move them around. If a player is listed as a SS but you have him at 2B, the AI thinks you don't have a 2B and will bombard you with trades. This is especially true if the player has a low or no rating at the position you have him playing. They will also offer you trades at any position where the AI thinks you are week. It's a pain in the ass, and I wish there were a "not accepting trade offers" option.

Would only work for 10 to 14 game days then same team would make a offer again

I turn AI trading diwn to "very low" or whatever the lowest setting is and it helps a lot. Also cuts down the weird AI to AI trades I usually hate.

You can set to not interested in certain players and should help with that a little

Yeah. But if you ars down by two runs to the Red Sox with 2 on base late in a make or break one-game divisional playoff, who do you want up at the plate?

Can you set the 3ish players that they are probably interested in as untouchable and move on? That worked for me on Steve Carelton and Mordecai Brown after a fantasy draft.

set the players they are inquiring about to "no trade list" [sic] in team needs. it's a tab under Rosters and Trasnactions screen.

if the ai perceives your team with an extreme weakness.. tehy will offer a ton of players that fit that need. it happens when i have a 'younger' crop of a position too. e.g. i'm going with a 23 year old closer this year and i got a bunch of offers trying to send me a CL.

i think adding them to no-trade list helped, but maybe just coincidence in this 1 regard. either way the no trade list helps prevent them from asking for their team needs for sure.

becareful of the "do not distrurb" -- one is okay, the other will not break sim when importand decisions need to be made like for injuries.

there's a "don't bother me with messages" then there's a "do not disturb" one... the one on right side of screen udner where you select dtd injury severity for interuptions is the one that will cause problems unless you delegate to Asst-GM for anything important.

the check box 'do not disturb' is the one to be wary of. the dropdown i always use to avoid the cosmetic/asthetic messages.

I didn't have that problem until I made an entry in Team Needs. Delete that need, and the annoying ones you speak of will end. You'll just get the regulaar junky offers.

Thanks, I guess I'll think about doing that. But I have to admit that I do occasionally get some useful leads from that.

I just hope the devs tweak it so they stop trying to get you interested in guys they don't want to trade.
