Import Free Agents Doesn't Work?

I've tried 2 ways, neither changes anything

1. Go to free agents - export free agents
2. Open that file with csv
3. Brings up the convert text to columns feature
4. Delimited - Comma ONLY
5. Sort by birthyear
6. Delete those Born 1996 and later. (Intent is only guys born in 1995 and older players show as FA)
7. Save file.
8. Open text doc, load saved file into text format, save and close.


Option 1
I simply go to import free agents, import the saved .txt file. Nothing changes, all the young guys I want to get rid of are still there

Option 2
I delete ALL free agents. Then import the saved .txt file. Nothing changes, there are no free agents showing.



What am I doing wrong?

how is your text file formatted? it must be in this form .....

this is an example of some players (of 222) in my 1903 text file to import.

not certain what yer doing incorrectly, but i've imported literally thousands of players using the text file system.
you need their player ID then a comma then a space then the year of the players career you want to bring in. (for Ruth it could be 1927, or 1924, or his early career 1915 ...)

it appears you are trying to import players in a way i don't understand. sorry, can't help you ....

Probably would have been easier to use the filters inside the game to get those players to show, then delete them. Instead of trying to do it outside the game.

I would recommend doing this through the import/export rosters function. That would probably work out better.

I'm not 100% certain how the import free agents function is intended to work, but I think the roster function should get closer to what you want.
