Statistical Modifiers question

In my current fictional league I am heading towards the start of season 2. I set the league up with a starting point of 1965 and all league strategies and statistical modifiers were set to 1965 MLB accordingly. I forgot, prior to the 1965 season to reset statistical modifiers so that the league wouldn't be heavily tilted towards pitching dominance.
Going into the 1966 season I wish to shift the statistical modifiers ahead a bit to mirror 1970 MLB (working on making a gradual transition towards a more balanced- mid-70's to mid-80's- statistical reality.)
Just want to make sure I've got it right in my head what I need to do.
Do I understand correctly that I should wait until the day before Opening Day and at that time go into the League Totals section of the Stats and AI settings for the WPK and select the year 1970 from the Select Year drop down menu and then click on Auto-Calc Modifiers? And if that is correct, is there anything else I need to do before moving on to Opening Day?
Thanks for any assistance you can give.

league settings -> Stats and AI tab - left side

you can import settings from any historical year. that will get all the dropdowns to match and jive with the totals etc.

at some point before opening day, or on opening day but before any games are played, you should press the "auto-caclulate" modifiers button. (right side of same settings screen above)

figure that after clicking that button, the league-wide results should be callibrated for those totals to 'likely' occur that year. it will ebb and flow a bit in ensuing years, of course.

if you want to make custom changes, now is the time to do that. use the league totals as the guide... increase/decrease whatever you want.

if you do something like that, you make want to take note of each change you make in %-change. then if you need to auto-calculated the modifiers again, you can easily re-apply your custom changes after clicking that button.

you can fiddle with modifiers midseason, but you can't 'auto-calculate' the league modifiers after a game has played. preseason/ST is only time you will see that button in Stats and AI. so, importing settings from a specific year is best done anytime during offseason, then make sure to auto-calculate the league modifiers to jive with new totals before season starts. again, that button is only visible during preseason/ST before a regular season game is played.
