The American Baseball Legion is a modern MLB league, started with the OOTP18 rosters and currently in the 2026 playoffs.
This is your chance to manage a team in a new league with a great mix of both veteran GM’s and some enthusiastic newcomers.

We do utilize Slack for day to day communication, but forum for trade posts, archiving of important information, team write-ups and for the purpose of polling GM's on significant league decisions.

OOTP Version: OOTP 19
Players: MLB Modern
Export Deadline/SIM Schedule: Exports 9p ET – Sims to be determined (at least every two days)
League Time Per Sim: 7 Days (adjusted in post-season)
First Season: 2017

Notable Rules & Settings:
Contract Extensions: Controlled players - 4 years & 2 arbs - before a multi-year extension can be offered
Ratings: 20-80 scale (just like the scouts)
Ovr/Pot: Stars
DH: Both leagues
Draft Lottery (10 worst records)
Scouts and Coaches OFF
The ABL will strive to keep our “house rules” as simple to follow as possible, benefiting both established GM's and newcomers.

We are currently in the 2021 playoffs, and will switch over to OOTP19 after the World Series. The following two teams will be open:

Cleveland Indians: Won the AL Central the first four seasons of the ABL. Made the Wild Card this year. They have been consistently competitive, but their window is closing. Could be a good challenge for a GM wanting to keep a team in contention.

Oakland A's: 2nd lowest budget. They have some a mix of some good ML pieces and specs. Not a bad team, but would definitely be a challenge for an active and experienced GM.

Miami Marlins are OPEN!

The Marlins have done a good job shedding some of their big contracts and building up a young core. They are also part of a weak division. This is an opportunity at a relatively clean rebuild with a chance to make some noise quickly. Let me know if you are interested!
