Custom league issue | Most of the players don't have contract

Started a new custom league but noticed that most of the players in all the rest of the teams doesn't have contract.
If you go to any of those players's profile they appear to have 1 year contract as a tryout.
I don't even have that option, in fact is the first time I see tryouts in this game.

This is a bug too?

The way the Custom League works is the equivalent of the NHL-AHL and then the CHL. That's my guess why you're seeing contract structures the way you are.
