Purposely tanking team ruining a league.

There is a team who has put hitters as pitchers and is currently 6-134. The other 4 teams in their NL East division are over .500. I'm at 78-60 in the NL Central.

Their purposely bad team is really irritating. I've reported the team for suspected cheating. It'd be great if the OOTP Gods would just take the team over for the rest of the season and put in at least some bronze pitchers or something.

Thoughts?

They said they would be getting rid of teams that do that. I'm not sure what exactly that means. I would guess banning them at the end of the season.

I hope you at least got large amounts of PP when you played them since it looks like they're probably going to cost you a playoff spot.

It really throws off their financial model as team are racking up large PP against teams like this. I'm surprised they don't take care of it immediately rather than sooner.

I just noticed the original "Position Players Throwing Meatballs" is also in your conference, but I guess they're playing it straight now.

I thought there were already safeguards in place to prevent this. I agree with the OP's suggestion. The team should be replaced with 6 opened starter packs and let the AI run it.

Picked up the 20+ runs gold achievement early, but I landed that against a non-tanker later anyway.

Those players need to be banned even if it is a temp ban just to send a warning to the accounts that own those teams. I am sure they are people's 2nd or 3rd team

They aren't. The entire team is 13 players.

This reminds me. Is there a way to set a team we created to "dormant" or something. I have two teams but I dont think I will really be able to pay attention to more than one after next month. Is there a way to deactivate a team so it doesn´t mess up another league?

I wish there were but as long as you're fielding a reasonable team with enough depth so the players don't tire, I wouldn't think it would mess anything up.

Promotion and relegation should take care of the team and keep it out of everyone's way well enough, so long as it remains an actual team (ie no Jim Unknowns or pitcher and batters swapping with each other)

We're already in the bottom league, so why did the player take the time to do this? He's not sandbagging.

I'd look at the other teams in the division/league and see if this is a multi or otherwise connected to one or more of these other teams. It might be a way to funnel pp.

The thing about some of this stuff is that they make no effort at all to conceal what they're doing. If they were subtle they would be much harder to catch. I'm almost as appalled by the stupid methods as I am about the cheating. I hope guys like this never try to commit real crimes.

I know everyone will disagree with me but I think there should be just 1 team for each member. This guy could be doing this just for fun to get a reaction by fouling up a league. Not saying he has a couple of teams but whatever is happening here it just is not fair to anyone.
