Won't let me make someone a 2-way player

Hi, I'm trying to make Jose Alvarado a 2-way player b/c he has 20/20 ratings at the 2 catcher ratings and I'd like him to be an emergency catcher. However, there is no option to make him a 2-way player in the player strategy page. Why is this?

Players need a minimum batting ability to be set as 2-way guys, to prevent people from setting their rotation full of batters (or lineup full of pitchers).

Thats disappointing but I guess it makes sense.
