Non-user team illegal number of players on active roster
Hi, I'm currently in year 17 of a dynasty and every so often around draft time I get this message about a team that I do not control. Since I am in challenge mode, I cannot do anything other than "run cpu manager on all teams" and it affects my own. I've had instances of pretty good rule 5 players being sent back to their original teams because of this issue. Anyone seen this before?

see it ALL the time. it's an on going issue. however, there are a number of solutions, but the one recommended by development team is to allow ghost players.

Yup if you go to game settings>league settings>rules you can turn on allow minor league incomplete rosters (ghost players) and that will allow you to continue playing without getting that error message.

sometimes selecting "have ai setup complete org." [sic] from 'available actions' in 'rosters and transations' will fix it too.
if you don't want ghost players and it's only happening rarely, add a couple rounds to the draft. if the problem is happening at ~rookie level, you'll want to consider how long players say there... e.g. let's say ~3 years... 2 extra rounds is 6 more players for rookie teams, typically in that context for every team. so, consider time * # of rounds added per level of the problem, if localized. if rookies are often a couple short, but not more than 5, this is going to solve that problem. (over-simplified) any change you make can take upto 10 years or more to see full turnover in MiL. so, the problem may not be solved after 1 year of new settings.
