Two-Way RP
I recently drafted a player and realized he was actually a fairly talented two-way player, but unfortunately has a mediocre third pitch (30 Current, 40 Potential) and have accepted the fact he would likely never be a starter.
Is there a way however for someone to be a two-way player as a relief pitcher? I can't seem to find anything about this. Thanks ![]() |

IRL it could happen one of two ways. One...he plays in the NL where pitchers hit, and you just wouldn't pinch hit for him when his turn came.
Two > Play in AL, but at the beginning of a game where he might be used you would have to forfeit the DH spot and all of your pitchers would have to hit for the whole game. The whole premise in the AL would require extreme foresight of whether or not the guy would pitch that evening. You would be able to pull a Shohei Ohtani and use him as a DH for days you know he won't be pitching, maybe a day after he pitched 2-3 days in a row, but it would be extremely difficult to pull off. Lastly, you could pull a TB Rays and use him as a "opener", but again, you'd have to forfeit the DH spot for him. All of the above is how RL rules would allow. I am unsure if the game gets THAT in-depth about these specific rules or not. They are so rarely used they most likely weren't on the priority list of the devs upon the game's release. It could have been patched in, though. Last edited by Findest2001; 04-26-2019 at 05:41 PM. |
