New feature requests

Hi everyone!

New Perfect Team player and I had a few questions and suggestions for the community:

1. Is there a sticky thread for people to submit feature requests? I saw a forum for bug threads, but not for enhancements.

2. Does the community think a win should earn you Perfect Points (PP)? It obviously can't be a large amount, but it is frustrating to watch your team dominate another (without hitting a specific PP achievement), only to see your opponent earn PP because of a meaningless HR or someone going 4 for 5. Sorry if this has been discussed elsewhere. If there's another thread for me to read, just let me know.

3. The PP market seems a bit problematic. I can't believe I'm saying this, but EA's approach to game currency makes more sense to me. For those of you unfamiliar with the EA model, it is impossible to buy in-game currency directly. Instead, you have to buy packs and then sell players in order to accumulate "money." With that money, you can then bid on other players in the auction house.

They are obviously both "pay-to-win" models (i.e. the more you spend, the better you're players will be), but at least the EA model prevents someone from directly paying for a specific player. With Perfect Team, pay-to-win players can buy points and then just purchase their target player outright. The EA model also forces more players into the auction house (in order to convert unpacked players into currency), which is more fun for everyone.

What thinks you? Do you like that Perfect Team gives you the ability to outright purchase players? Or do you think it exacerbates the feeling that players can just buy their way to the top?

Cheers!

Interesting thought. There is a part of me that is excited that if I pull the right perfect card that someone can buy PP and buy it from me and allow me to build a more well rounded team, but with packs only it may prevent players from having the top 5 pitchers within a week of the game release. I think it all comes down to would buying packs rather than points deter some people from spending. At the end of the day OOTP wants to maximize profit and if the biggest spenders spend less it could hurt the overall product. I like the idea of a place to send enhancements though, there probably is one but I have suggestions and would love to see others ideas. This is such an awesome game and has the potential to be much better.

Both methods have merit and can be good for the bottom line of the company in their own right, the approach is different.
I think for what OOTP is doing right now, a model like EA probably wouldn't work, at least not now. EA puts out all kinds of different packs on the regular to stimulate purchases, which is key to getting people to spend.
OOTP has a smaller staff, so doing that may be more challenging while they are seemingly trying to focus on all the other stuff (collections, tournaments, etc).

Perhaps in the future it could be done like EA and I agree that it would generate a different influx of cards into the market and the AH would behave differently, but at the moment I don't think people would rush to buy currency to buy the regular packs that are in the store. Some might but I wouldn't think it would be a majority.

I do find it curious that OOTP has players purchase points, but its packs and not points that are awarded from playing in Challenge Mode.

Does the EA model include a way to win packs?

I can only speak for NHL, but yes, there are different ways to win packs during the year. Usually not the "best" packs out there, but there are packs to be won in offline + online seasons, etc.

I'm still hoping that we will get the opportunity to import our PT 1.0 and Pt 2.0 teams into their respective games. Big investments have been made with the expectation that this feature would soon be available.
I respect that more development time was needed to implement this feature and am willing to wait patiently as you guys complete it. But please make it retroactive to OOTP19 TP1.0.
Thanks,
Mike Marvin

Given that we want to enjoy the game for an entire year, we need the top spenders to continue to invest and fill the market.

But with many of them already having 30+ perfect cards and all the top historic players, I see little incentive for them to keep opening packs and investing further and sharing their duplicate findings with the rest of the players.

I would like to see future versions hold back more top cards and slowly introduce them into the PT universe over a 12 month period.
Teams should not field the top 5 pitchers (Cy, Walter, Pedro, ...) after just 3-4 weeks.

I don't know what you mean about imports and nothing I read ever gave the impression such an impression.

Each version of PT is a stand alone game and once the server is shut down - appropriately 1 year after launch- the data and game is gone forever.

There was an advertised feature to import your PT into regular OOTP that even had a checkbox or something in the UI that didn't work. the devs indicated it proved too difficult to implement and this guy has been going nuts about it ever since. Going nuts might be a bit strong but constantly mentioning it. I didn't even know it was going to be a thing.
