Feature idea! Too early? Probably

After watching the NFL draft it got me thinking.
A lot of games have the feature that let’s your scout recommend a pick when it’s your time to pick.

For an NFL draft to be as “real” as possible wouldn’t it be great to have the “scout” to recommend a draft board with let’s say the top 8 players on every position. Also this would result in an top 200 overall players list.
This would be a great start for the GMs so that we then can drag and drop players on the list how we evaluate players. Moving a player in the top200 list won’t move him on the position list unless you move him above a player in the same position.

Setting up your own draft board from scratch is just something that I think takes to much time and it’s hard to evaluate players after 3 rounds, help is needed

What would this help?
I think the NFL draft is the most important of all drafts with a lot of instant contributors even in the lower rounds, if you are good and have some luck. It would be a huge help to know that my #2wr is available in the 2 round but am picking after 8 picks so it time to trade up a few spots. A mock draft would also be huge help.
It would also be more fun in the later round were I sometimes feel that it’s hard to find value and I just pick someone based on: I just don’t know what to check for instead of: this is my #7 DL in the 6th round WHAT A STEAL!!!!

Just being able to se that after 3 round there haven’t been many RB picked. I don’t really need one but the value is huge here, is helpful and a bit “manual” in FOF8 and other games.

Since the draft and the non drafted college grads are the single source of new players to NFL I feel that the draft and it’s tools in a football game must be the best of any simulation game.

The free agency in FOF8 is already great and very alike to real life. Trading has some improvement areas but to be real there isn’t so much trading in the NFL unless it’s about draft picks and especially draft days.

Let’s make the draft great!

Great idea. It would be like sitting in the draft room when you are on the clock and your assistants are giving their opinions on whom you should draft, but the final decision is still yours.

Absolutly James! Lets just get a game first!
I just feel that there is a lot of fun stuff that could be added to the whole draft experience. The draft in my opinion gets little love from developers of various games. I am totally sure that FOF9 will be great on all the other “base” things as previously.

I also have to praise Jim for the combine stats that’s been in the previous games. That’s really world class even though I find it a bit hard to interpret and take advantage of fully.

Let’s face it’s we are all nerds loving this type of games that basically keeps us chasing numbers
