All star game scheduled on same day as regular season games

I thought I saw a thread on this a while ago, but couldn't find it when searching. I'm approaching the all-star break and I noticed an issue with the schedule.

The all star game is scheduled on the same day as regular season games. There is an "all star break" in the schedule, but it isn't scheduled for that time. In fact, there are two regular season games during that time.

Can I manually move these?

How do I prevent it next time? Is it a bug or a config issue?

I just tried to fix this by unselecting the option to automatically schedule the all star game, and then manually selecting the correct date. This seemed okay, until I noticed it reset the All Star voting begin and end times. I'm worried this will mess things up because this has already happened once and the teams were set and the players histories were updated.

Okay, my fear was correct. The all star voting was in fact reset even though it already happened and was recorded in the league and players history. So... I manually set the all star rosters to ensure they were the same the first time. Now, my problem is that it is recorded twice. Each player has the all star badge twice for this year.

Is there a better way to fix this? I've created a backup before messing with any of it.

I'm wondering if the all star badge (and history) showing up twice on a player has any functional impact or if it is just cosmetic. Any thoughts?

I had this problem before and I fixed it by always generating a new schedule each preseason.

Thanks for the response. I will certainly check this before the next season starts. Any ideas for how I can fix this now?

I mean, players having duplicate badges for the ASG is mostly cosmetic (there are some slight tweaks to contract demands depending on how many ASG a player is selected for, and it's possible that players with all-star bonuses will get selected twice). So if you can accept that, that's obviously the easiest way forward.

For other solutions restoring from your backup, you could manually move all the games as well as the relevant league events, and that should solve things. If your backup happens to be after players have been selected for the game, then do NOT move the ASG selection event or that would happen again.

In the future, it's best to check the schedule before the season. It can happen with some combinations of schedule and settings that it just can't fix everything together. If you see that in the pre-season, best to post a bug report detailing exactly which ASG settings and which schedule options are used and we can try to track things down that way.

Thanks Matt. Given the impact of duplicate ASG selection seems minimal I'll go with that approach for now. I will certainly remember to check the schedule between seasons from now on. I use all of the default league/schedule settings and I've never had any schedule issues before, so it didn't occur to me to check.

Me again... I think I have another issue here. This is the same saved game, a couple seasons later. After "fixing" the first issue, everything was okay the next season. Now this season, I'm not sure if I have an all-star game or not.

In the league settings, I've tried both "Automatically schedule all-star game" as well as manually setting the date. The "auto-play" drop down menu references the all-star game on July 12th. However, when I view my teams schedule there isn't a game shown, and if I look in the schedule editor there isn't a game scheduled.

I've added screen grabs of my settings, the schedule editor, my teams schedule, and the auto-play menu.

Any help?

Okay... I fixed it by toggling the the "Hold all-star game" option off/on. Now the game is scheduled.

It's probably the only annoying problem I've had with this game. I like that the game is structured in such a way so I don't have to face difficulties while playing it. I say so because there would have been a long line of players in any other career simulation, who wouldn't mind making their lives easier with the help of tips from www.guidedhacking.com. Although, I never really understood such people. If you download a simulation game for yourself, then it's obvious that you must play it in conditions as close to reality as possible. I'm ready to forgive mankind's cheats in The Sims 3, but definitely not career games.
