Hello, thanks for reading this!
I just got OOTP 20, and am hoping to recreate something I've been doing that will amuse you all I imagine. I've been playing Earl Weaver Baseball v. 1.5 for over 30 years, with as many as 6 people back in the day and one now playing via screenshare. We love it in part because it's been easy to import players [first via Baseball Encyclopedia and Total Baseball, now the sainted BBRef of course]. We play with everyone from 1894 [post-mound-change] to last season, at the moment distilled into one AL and one NL team each. We've thought about upgrading for years, and I"m finally taking the plunge to see if OOTP will work. So an actually straightforward question. How do I create a league with that large a pool of players? Thanks again! |

Are you saying that when you start with 1894, at that point you'd want all players (who played from 1894 to current) available to you? Or maybe you're referring to Random Debut?

At the same time? Why?
You need 750 to fill 30 teams. Why would you want 18,000 plus? Perhaps I'm not understanding what you're doing. Last edited by Brad K; 05-21-2020 at 11:42 PM. |

Well the idea is to be able to pick from every player 1894 on and pick their best year to use... Perhaps instead a way to pick individual players from various years and combine them into one league, then?

So you want an All Time All Stars Best Year League.
Do you realize that most of the time most players won't perform like all stars? |

You don't need most of the players. Here's some lists to start with.

I know that we only need some, I was just wondering what the easiest way to do it was... so is the best way to identify what years we need players from and just import those years?

...for example, I know we want multiple players from 1894, 1895, 1930, and 1931. Can I make a pool of various years?

Set up a league and import the players you want.
