New League Question

Thank you to everyone that is involved in helping noobs like myself! With that said- I NEED HELP!!!
I just installed the game tonight. Here is what I am wanting to do-
I want to create a league with MLB Teams (expandable as well) with current/ and historical MLB players. Id like to start the league somewhere in the 2000-2002 range. With a inaugural draft for MLB and MILB.
Here are my questions/ issues I have experienced thus far when creating a league-

1- Will the league randomly throw in different historical players each year when the league holds its annual draft? For instance, if I am in 2003, will the league throw in players from 1980's and/ or say....2018 (Those years are just examples)..... or does it simply add historical players when they actually entered the majors in their real professional careers?

2- I have tried to create 2 leagues so far. The first league had players in their 50's playing. So I adjusted the next league to fix the issue, only for the players in the new league be in the 4-10 year old age range.....not sure what I am doing wrong.

I am obviously missing a setting somewhere. If anyone has any templates similar to what I am trying to accomplish, Id be more than happy to listen to suggestions on how to play something close to what I am dreaming!!

If you want to start with the actual teams and minors as they were in a given year (say 2001) all you need to do is start a historical game.

If you want to start with the structure of MLB in that year, but with no players on any of the teams, you might be able to do that, but I have not tried. I believe that you could go into the league settings and possibly release all players, but you would need to look into that.

As far as whether you want random historical players showing up in 2001, I belueve there is a setting for that in the league options as well.

I appreciate you taking the time to assist me. I think I figured everything out except for one thing-

I am doing something wrong in the settings that is throwing off all the players ages. They are either in their 50's or in their toddler years!!

I do not want the ages incorrect due to it impacting retirements, etc for historical stats in my league.

Has anyone ran into this issue?
