How much do you miss baseball?

I also charged $12 for a Miller Lite. Used the profits to get two four packs of Dragon's Milk and a single craft beer to be named later!

I hope you used hot dogs that were on special with an expiration date of yesterday, anything else kills your margin.

the longer the owners and players bicker about money and push the season further out, the less i miss it. They need to get a safe way to progress, that's a given, and both sides need to put greed away for the good of the game.

And if they do get going this year, i hope the realignment idea sticks. Just makes sense to me to have teams in the same league/division be closer together. in my mind, the longer they "discuss" finances, there will less fans to fill the stadiums when they do return to the point it's possible....

Not very much. The level of greed for more dollars by the players and owners has, over time, slowly drained my enthusiasm for the pro game.
What was once a very vibrant and intense interest has evolved into apathy. No hard feelings toward MLB. I have just decided to not follow their game.

The game on other levels, collegiate, minor leagues, town ball, is capturing more of my interest as I begin to learn how these venues operate. Having recently discovered the existence of Town Ball in Minnesota, I'm excited about the culture surrounding those players and teams. Good stuff.

I absolutely agree.

And I really like the idea that players making minimum salary get most of their prorated salary.
And honestly, I don't understand the problem for a guy like Mike Trout to "only" make about $ 5 mill. this season.

Some people in the world make a few dollars a day

Are you willing to give up 5/6 of your salary?
Not to do give to them, but to give to some billionaires?

I miss it of course but we all know owners and players don't give a s*** about us-we only pay their salaries. I'm really into the Dream Brackets and Baseball Reference simulating the 2020 season. Reading the play by plays are really interesting. I'd love to see baseball again but I don't need these clowns act like their doing me a favor. As an essential worker I've had enough to be concerned about every day.

Neither owners nor players are covering themselves with glory, but let's bear in mind the difficulties that they face. The players by and large have standards of living that correspond to their pre-coronavirus pay expectations. The owners stare into the prospect of multi-million dollar losses at a time when many of their other enterprises are struggling. Some are almost certainly scrabbling to ward off bankruptcy.

Not having a season will be the worst outcome for all sides, but that doesn't mean that the less bad outcomes are painless or that finding one that is mutually acceptable will be easy.

Dire as the situation may be, I reassure myself with the fact that baseball is a terrific game, fun to play and fascinating to watch. Wait till next year!

The owners and players already agreed to one pay cut for the players

Now the owners are asking for a second.

As Max Scherzer pointed out, everyone knows what each player makes, but the owners profits are not, likewise, public knowledge. The owners are asking the players to take the second pay decrease on the owners word that that they will lose money.

The owners asked the highest paid players to subsidize both the lower paid players and the much richer owners. But, there's no evidence that the richest owners are going to subsidize the poorer owners.

If the owners would be more open, which they won't, we might see the players more willing to cooperate - for the SECOND time - with them

Thought I'd miss broadcast sports if they were gone. Turns out I actually don't. Perhaps, it's because I know it will return sooner or later. But, must admit I'm surprised.

Yes, I am surprised also but I think it has to do with my own leagues. I don’t need to watch their games, I have my own.😁

I don't give a rat's ass about Professional Sports anymore. The salaries are so out of control, and the non-stop television and radio commentary with associated commercials have completely ruined the whole experience for me.

I would be happy if they never come back.

I remember my tipping point. I was watching the All-Star game. I had not viewed an MLB game more than an inning or so for a few months. I watched a batted ball pass the foul pole. Darned if I didn't see a fast food chicken ad in the middle of that foul pole.

It's humorous as I write about it. At the time my thought was, 'what, they don't have enough revenue without that'?

I haven't watched a pro sports game, live nor televised since I can't remember. So, to answer the question - not at all.
