I havent been able to play much FHM over the past few months because of university, courses and exams. but I picked up the game again, and simulated another two seasons with the Seattle Totems team I made through the expansion draft. 2028/29 was an amazing year for the Totems, with players continuing to develop and have career defining years (so far).
I wanted to give a brief recap of the season for yall Tracey-ing the future: Brayden Tracey has a career year, finishing with the most assists in the NHL, and finishing third in points, only behind Alexis Lafreniere(MTL) and David Pasternak (BOS) Ahl in the cards: After a few mediocre seasons in net, Emil Ahlstrom has a career year, with a GAA of 2.56 and a SV% of .920. He just barely misses out on the Vezina to Spencer Knight (Quebec City, formally Florida) The Joseph difference: After having a very underwhelming season with the Pittsburgh Penguins the previous year, Pierre-Olivier Joseph hits free agency and signs a 4 year deal worth 5.2 million per year. This proved to be a great decision, as Joseph would go on to have a career year with 17 goals and 64 points in a full 82 game season. His performance is validated through winning the Norris Trophy for the season. Overall, the Totems would finish with a 58-20-4 record, clinching the Presidents Trophy. However, the playoffs would not be a cakewalk. Seattle would match up against a Minnesota Wild team making it to the playoffs for a second year in a row after nearly a decade of missing the playoffs. The Wild, who were led into battle by Shane Wright and a sturdy defensive corps led by Luke Hughes and Todd Walsh. Seattle was able to make it through the tough Minnesota defense to win in 5 games. In round two, Seattle came up against another young upcoming team in the LA Kings. The series was incredibly hard fought, as the teams would play through seven games. It wasn't until Tomas Duran managed to get one in the net in game 7 overtime. The Chicago Blackhawks would be the matchup for the Totems in the conference finals. The surprise of the post season, Chicago went on a deep playoff run despite finishing 3rd in the central division and having an average team compared to the other playoff teams. Despite this however, the hawks put up a strong fight, but ultimately lost in six games. Kingston Fedoruk in particular had a strong series, but got injured in game 5. Seattle very well may have lucked out there. The finals pitted the Seattle Totems up against the Montreal Canadiens. Led by a high powered offense featuring Alexis Lafreniere, Cole Caufield, and Kohen Ziemmer, as well as the NHL's best defenseman in Chris Bauer, I expected this to be an incredibly tough series for the Totems. However, the Habs simply ran out of gas. It also did not help that the clock struck midnight on the feelgood story of Jordan Kooy, whom was stuck in the AHL a year prior. Seattle was able to clinch the Stanley Cup in a four game sweep. Captain Dylan Peterson wins the Conn Smythe and lifts his first of hopefully several Stanley Cups. I dont know if I am going to do another one of these write ups. This took me around an hour to do. If this is received well enough, maybe I will make another one. |

Wow weirdly enough Hughes and Wright both ended up on the Wild in my save too.
