Getting Pitchers to Pinch Hit

In the capped PT tournaments, the pitchers that can hit can be helpful... but I must be doing something wrong because I'm unable to get them to pinch hit during sims.

Even if they're the only "Pinch Hitters" and the pitcher is a reliever.

Do I need to change them to a position player?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Yes, I don't recall seeing pinch-hitting pitchers before, so that's probably how to do it. You can change your league settings to have the AI pinch-hit more often as well.

I'm playing historical. I have two pitchers, Vernon Law (real life 216/254/309 and Dick Hall (real life 210/271/259) who show up on the batters list. The manager uses them as PHers several times a season. I've done nothing with the settings.

Historically Law PH 12 times. Hall was even more active with 37 career PH appearances.
