Two Issues - Waivers/Salary Cap
I am running into two issues in my league... not sure they are bugs, but any help or clarification would be greatly appreciated:
1. With regards to waivers, I can't seem to figure out where guys that clear waivers wind up. For instance, as the Penguins, I waived D Chad Ruwhedel. He cleared waivers, but now he has basically disappeared. When I search for him, it says he is on the Penguins roster, but he isn't there and he isn't on any of my minor league rosters either. I've tried editing him to the minors to no avail. There doesn't seem to be anything I can do with him. 2. With regards to the salary cap, we have it set at $81.5 million in year 1 and for the first half of the season, that number was displayed in the bottom left-hand corner of the Roster screen. It was basically where we told GMs to look to make sure they were cap compliant. However, sometime in that past few sims that number has become different for every team. Almost like it it is treating as though each team has a different salary cap number. I know in the NHL the Cap goes out the window in the postseason, but I'm not sure why it would change during the season, let alone change to a different number for each team. Thanks in advance for any feedback anyone may have. Bret |

Was Ruhwedel waived when you sent him to the minors? He should be appearing on the team you sent him to. When you edit him, where does it say he is, still on the Pittsburgh roster?
The team salary cap amounts will adjust during the season to reflect the cap space you've accumulated by being under the cap during the year. Doing it that way allows you to see how much cap hit you can add by keeping the frame of reference (the player's whole-season cap hit) constant, as opposed to needing to get into the math of pro-rating the salary cap of a new acquisition to the proportion of the season he'll be with you. The net effect is the same, it's just much easier to see and understand at a glance. |

2. Just so I'm clear, provided the team stays under that "new Cap number" they will still be Cap compliant with our league Cap number? For instance, in our league, it now says the Coyote's Salary Cap is $93 million (our league number is $81.5 million). So they can go up to $93 million and it will be the same as them being compliant with the $81.5 number? I guess that makes sense, but it's tricky as a commissioner to make sure everyone is Cap compliant. That was a nice place to get a quick glance. Thanks for the response. Bret |

If it helps, I understood that the game wouldn't let you be cap non-compliant during the regular season. It simply will not allow the signing to put it over, I think. Could be wrong about this, though.
