Back to glory: Detroit Red Wings long time run

Started the new game with Detroit Red Wings. Want to sim as much seasons as it will be possible. In EHM did abou 250 seasons with one team, i hope this game will be not again it.

But im still only at the beginning.

Now im in 2024/2025 season and finally it should be a playoff season.

Sean Wright – wanted the 1th overall pick in 2022, but Canadiens refused. Tried all wild offers. Also Coyotes, who drafted second refused all offers. First pick was M. Savoie, Wright was second. But tied to make a trade in his rookies season and Coyotes accepted (J. Klinberg, rights to Oleksii Mykluha, rights to Jaromir Pytil, 1th round 2023, 2nd round 2023).

Rasmus Dahlin – that was strange. Sabres decided to release him in summer 2022, was sudennly Free Agent. Offered contract and he accepted. But he is only 3 star player.

Matthew Tkachuk – Trade one for one. For Moritz Seider.

Heiskanen – Free agent

Others are drafted players.

Wanted to sign also N. MacKinnon, but he signed with Chicago.

Stanley Cup 2025. Won vs Nashville, after being down 2:3. One win with 9:6 result.

Rasmus Dahlin with Conn Smythe Trophy (3+14, +6, GR 73).

Connor Lockhard, 22-years old rookie with Calder Trophy (27+29, +33).

Sidney Crosby retired as 37 years old player. His numbers: 1412 games, 578 goals + 1049 = 1627 points.
39-years old Oveckin is still in Caps team.

Season 2025/2026

Nothing special. In the pre-season was the top dog for Stanley Cup. But lost in 1th round vs Flyers. Regular season: 3. overall with 108 points. But also with 322 GF. Sean Wright with 50 goals.

40-years old Oveckin finally said good-bay to his career.

Also Steven Stamkos.

On the International stage, there was a huge surprise.

Another Stanley Cup, this time with decisive 4:0 victory in the finals vs Oilers.
30 years old Connor McDavid was only 6+9 in 19 playoff games.

Rasmus Dahlin: second Conn Smythe Trophy, most productive player in playoff (24 points). GR in playoffs = 75

A little surprise with the Art Ross and Maurice Richard Trophy: Pierre-Luc Dubois for 117 points and 54 goals.

It seems, i must say good-bay to Filip Zadina. Im way over the cap.

Rasmus Dahlin had another good, but not perfect regular season. He collected 60 points, but he was also +0. Yeah, zero. That a little bit strange. Because Red Wings won Presidents trophy with Goal Difference +94.

New Star has arived in NHL. Edward Lanuk, 19 years old rookie had a fantastic season. Nominated for Norris Trophy, after he had 60 points and +54 in 70 games. And won.
Drafted second overall by Blackhakws. As a 17 years old played for Canada on the Olympic games.
Wanted to make trade before he came to NHL, but price was too high.

Unfortunately, no Stanley Cup. Lost in semifinals vs young and hungry Rangers.

Only 46 goals for Maurice Richard trophy winner David Pastrnak.

Almost great regular season. Best team overall with 129 points, 62 wins a goal diference +134 (350:218).

So close to break the Wins record. Last game vs Rangers lost in Overtime 1:2.

Sean Wright still without 100 points season, tshi time with 45 + 45 in 77 games.

Wonderful season from Matt Tkachuk, wo was +61. Overall, the +/- statistics was own by Red Wings players. First 5 position belongs to Red Wings, 3 of them with more +50 points.

Only Pastrnak score more than 50 goals (52).

Last season there was this wonder-kid Edward Lanuk. But surprisingly, his productivity declined massive. From 60 points to 20 points in 70 games. Lets see, how will he do next season.

Btw, another Stanley Cup. Only 1 lost game in playoffs. But it seems, i must sell some good guys, because of cap. Next season will be not so good.

Teams will never trade the 1st overall pick. However, they will trade a player... Wait until after the draft, then trade for the player that you wanted. That will be doable.

Not so strong season as 2028/2029, but i was prepared for that. Anyway, still first in the regular season.
But then surprisingly was kicked out already in the first round by Maple Leafs.
Shane Wright with his first Maurice Richard Trophy (53 goals) and first 100+ point season. Nominated also for Hart, but that was won by Connor McDavid.

John Carlson played his last game. Retired as a member of New York Islanders. His last season (39 years old) was very good.

Very strong regular season with 121 points. Unfortunately, 2. round was the end in playoff, this time vs Boston Bruins.

Recap of the last 10 seasons

What is amazing, average attendance is slowly declining (see picture). From 17 080 to 15 338. Lets see, how it will continue.

Nathan MacKinnon and Connor McDavid are clearly the best players to this days. Sometimes Auston Matthews.

But now, let the picture spoken.

Again – 62 wins and 129 points. But only 301 GF.

Connor McDavid had fantastic season with 130 points (51+79) and GR 84.
36 years old Nathan MacKinnon has now 722 goals. Also very good season with 97 points.
Overall, there are only 3 players with 100+ season and only 2 with 50+ goals.
There are 2 defensman with 26 goals (Aron Kiviharju and Luke Hughes). What is strange,m one of this guys was also -20.

Was blessed with first overall pick in 2031 draft thanks to trade. Picked a goalie Ben McGrogan and it was a jackpot. In his rookie Season he won Calder, Vezina and Jennings Trophy.

Unfortunately, no Stanley Cup. This time the end was already in second round.

Only 104 points, 48 wins, 284 Goals for. That means not so great regular season.

Auston Matthews, Nathan MacKinnon and Connor McDavid still among the top 5 in the league. And they are 35+ years old. Where are the young gyus?

505 hits, 202 shots blocked, 12 fights, 288 PIM and 31 points. That are some good numbers for a defensman. 23 years old Czech D Jan Zika. That name i must follow.

Another Stanley Cup, this time with 4-0 win in the finals vs Oilers (rematch of 2026/2027). And that also without Shane Wright, who was injured in second round. Poor Connor McDavid still without Stanley Cup.

Ben McGrogan with second Vezina in the row.

Almost perfect season.

Presidents Trophy – 121 points
Stanley Cup

4 individual Trophies: Conn Smythe, Norris (2 nominations), Bill Masterton, Vezina

Most produktive players of the regular season was 36 years old Auston Matthews. Only his cracked 100 points (101). Overall, this regular season was very weak in regard of points and goals. No 50-goals.

Again with Double: Presidents Trophy (but this time only with 117 points) and Stanley Cup.

Another Conn Smythe Trophy won by a defensman. This time Moritz Kleiner after he was 5 + 12, +17, GR 65 in 19 games. This is somehow strange. Because his teammate, forward Berkley Catton, was 11 + 8 with 3 gw goals and GR 68. But that a little notice.

The regular season was again without any 50-goals scorer and with only 100+ points leader. Unfortunately, Connor McDavid and Nathan MacKinnon were on long time injury list. Therefore their career stats were not so much improved. Auston Matthews (37 years old) was 9. in the points list (86). Believe or not, won his 5. gold medal on World Championships.

Ben McGrogann with his 4. Vezina Trophy in a row (he is only 22 years old).

This time 3 players with more than 100 points and 3 with more that 50 goals. Little surprise by Art Ross. Nathan MacKinnon, 40 years old, won it with 111 points (33+78).

Another oldie, 38 years old Auston Matthews, had 77 points.
39 years old Connor McDavid with 60 points.

Regular season was not great, only 99 points and goal difference only +31. Overall it was 7. best record in the league. Lost in 1. round.

Stanley Cup won by Buffalo Sabres. They made a interesting move before the season. Signed a 30-years old goalie from KHL Andrei Nikulshin. He played one season in NHL before, but was mostly in KHL. And suddenly they won Stanley Cup with him, and he won Vezina, Jennings and Conn Smythe.

Nathan MacKinnon retired
Hart Trophy: 4
Maurice Richard: 3
Art Ross: 3
Stanley Cup: 1
World Championships Gold: 2
World Cup Gold: 1
1664 regular season games: 818 + 1124 = 1942
158 playoff games: 68 + 105 = 173

Also retired: David Pastrnak (757 goals, 1629 points).

First move in the off-season was the signing of Connor McDavid. For 5 250 000 for one season i wanted to give him the last chance to win a Stanley Cup. Because of that i had to make some bold roster moves to go under the cap.

Regular season was good, but not so great. With 110 points my team finished 3. overall.
McDavid had 43 points. But another star is emerging. Alexandre Faraldeau, Nr. 2 from 2035 draft, won team scoring race with 87 points.

24-years old Ben McGrogann with 5. Vezina Trophy.

Only 2 players with 100+ season and zero with 50 goals.

NHL draft 2037 have a monster prospect. Slovakian center Karel Danis from Liptovsky Mikulas has already 4,5 star ability and naturally 5 stars potential. 40 points in 42 games in Slovak top league. Played already on 2 World Championships (13 points in 16 games).

No Stanley Cup for McDavid! Lost in the first round in 7 games.
