Resign Percentage

It would be great to have an option for percentage of players willing to resign with there team. Right now I feel like players resign as long as they get the money they want and never hit free agency.

If a player gets the money he wants, why would he choose free agency?

Bc it’s not just money. They want to test the open market in real life and see if they can get more money from an outside team. Not to mention going to a winning team or moving to a part of the country they prefer.

A team he likes better or playing the free agency game can all be bought out with enough money. So in the end its just money.

It’s one of the many things they can’t really code to truly simulate real life situations. This is where your imagination has to come in a bit.

I would think a player that has a higher greed rating would want to hit the open market.

Why do some players say they have no interest in talking to a GM and want to test free agency? It’s coded somehow for that to happen. My point was maybe have a setting for us to increase that. In online leagues it would make free agent classes much better.

Refusing to talk is quite a bit different from the scenario in the first post.

In the game a player refusing to talk from the beginning isn't realistic. Real life players have agents. A team calls the agent and makes an offer. That offer will make it to the player. The agent can advise the player to decline it but the agent cannot withhold the information of an offer from the player.

I'm OK with the player in the game saying I'm not talking anymore. That simulates a situation where RL a GM decides not to waste any more time constructing offers.

I agree this option needs a input or a slider as to how willing players are to test Free Agency vs stay in place. Even from a strictly financial standpoint, there's always a risk in players trying to defer to hit the market. They may get hurt or slump. Whether a player takes that risk is dependent on a lot of factors in the world and not just solely on if there's more money in the future than now. Over history, this tendency ebbs and flows and it would also be nice to have a little more control over this for fictional or modified MLB leagues.
