Can I create my 1918-2020 super league?
I have created a 1918-2020 "franchise greats" super league. But here's the thing - I've used 2019-20 as a statistical "baseline," and using basic extrapolation to bring all player ice times to current standards, have been able to "normalize" all players - so they're all on the same playing field.
My question is this -> How can I make this happen using FHM? Or can I? Thing is this: I purchased the new version of Action! PC Hockey, thinking surely they have come a long way since their first couple of releases; but noooooo. It's just as clunky and bug-ridden as ever. And the interface simply isn't up to scratch - not by a long shot. Anyway, the point is, I want to build a league that operates in isolation - that using the 2019-20 statistical baseline, and from which I can play exhibition games using any teams from this league. I'm not into salaries and drafts and all that jazz - I just want to build a league of statistically normalized players and hold a "Battle Royale" between franchises. It's going to be epic - or at least, it would be if I could find a hockey sim that could let me do such a thing without (like Action! PC) driving me nuts with bugs and a second-rate GUI. Can FHM give me this power? If so, how? I purchased an earlier version of FHM and it seemed quite, I don't know, "busy" - lots of unnecessary loading of databases, salaries, commissioner stuff, etc, etc. I just want to go in, build a stat-normalized league, and play some games - really give my normalized players a chance to play each other on a level playing field, with no ice time or era advantages or disadvantages. Do-able? Thanks in advance for any info you care to provide. Glenn Last edited by WeirWrite; 03-18-2021 at 02:13 PM. |

You could do it; the best way would probably be creating a custom game with the number of teams you want, and then turning off as many rules (financials, trading, free agency, etc.) as possible. But bear in mind this is primarily a management game, not a stat replay game.
