what is the best way to recreate the 1992 expansion draft so i can repick the rockies?

I think you need to start a historic league in 1991, sim a season, and then expand the league. I think if you start with 1992, the Rockies team as drafted will already be there.

So, you will start on time, but players will be different because their 91 season will be replayed instead of as in real life. so, players will develop differently, they will get hurt, etc. If you want Gallarga for example, maybe he gets a deal in the 91 season.

Here's a workaround.....start in 92 with the Rockies as drafted, but change some of the players they drafted. All you do is pick who you don't want, then pick who you prefer from the original team, and force trade them back.

You might want to sim a few years prior to get some history going and then yeah just take over the Rockies after the 1992 playoffs conclude. Automatic expansion should be default in a historical league I think.

I'm doing this now. I ran the Cardinals from 1984-92 and took the Rockies job for a challenge. I'm at the expansion draft and McGwire with 2 years left on his deal is available. Seeing him hit bombs in Coors is going to be fun.
