Historical - contract extensions

Hi ! I can't find a way to extend my players contracts. (I'm managing the North Stars in 1969).
Can I only do this at the end of a season or of the contracts?

As long as the player is in the final season of his contract, you should be able to sign him to an extension. What happens when you try?

Actually the option wasn't there since they weren't in their last year of contract, now I can since I'm in the 3rd year of my historical save.

However, I have another problem when signing some FA :
- They ask for the minimum salary, I use meet demand and ask for response, they say it suits their needs.
- Then they reject my offer saying they need more money, but I can't change any amount of money with a new offer (major or minor salary), either with typing numbers (nothing moves) or using the arrows.

I had the same problem with my draft pick that wanted more than minimum, I ended up using the editor to give him a contract.

Any idea what I can do about that?
