FHM immediately crashing when I try to Sim game

I'm not sure what exactly I did... I had graphics missing again and copied them from another folder but I must have done something else because when I click on "sim game" (or "play game" is the same result), FHM immediately crashes completely.


I can't even save the game as - that crashes too.


As a side. when I tried to load another save (for a different team), FHM also immediately crashed. An older save game crashed when I hit "continue" so It may not be exclusive to a specific save.


One thing I did notice, sometimes it would crashed upon loading when it got to "loading nations"



I uploaded my main team season to the FTP folder. It's 091528-PENS.lg

There are a bunch of files missing from the save, that's why it's crashing when it tries to load the nations - nations.dat isn't there. But from what I can see, none of the missing ones would be unique to your save, so you still may be able to recover it if you copy the following files from another save of the same type:

cities.dat
coach_template.dat
default_location_tactics.dat
gm_template.dat
injuries.dat
nations.dat
shot_type_mod.dat
states.dat
tactic_templates.dat
zone_event_mod.dat

I was able to sim the game but it crashed when I tried to continue to the next day.

Likely due to that none of my saves have:

coach_template.dat
gm_template.dat

is there any easy to way to reproduce them?

edit: I do have a very old save on the FTP folder but I can't figure out how to downloaded/copy it to my computer. If those .dat files would work, it's called 7212021-2.lg.zip (so 7 seasons ago)

Looks like there's some kind of serious data error with the rosters of multiple terams that's causing the crash - I can't even run the AI Setup Organization option on them without getting a crash, which is very odd, normally that'll work fine even if there's a problem with the lineup that'll break the actual game simulation. We'll have to take a closer look at this one, I'm not sure what's going on there.

It turned out there were a couple of other files missing. Try starting a new game in standard mode, let it run until the start of the NHL regular season, and then copy the following list of files from it to your existing save:

cities.dat
coach_template.dat
default_location_tactics.dat
gm_template.dat
injuries.dat
nations.dat
regions.dat
shot_type_mod.dat
states.dat
tactic_templates.dat
template.dat
zone_event_mod.dat

It should run properly once you do that.

Well, I was able to sim the pre-season game but when I hit continue, it immediately crashed.

I uploaded it again : 091628-Pens.lg

I don't get a crash with that. Your Team Canada roster hasn't been selected, though, and they have a game the same day. Try doing that (you can just use the "AI Assign Players" Action menu option on their roster screen to fill it quickly if you want) and see if it continues normally.

I wasn't able to select on the dropdown box to select "AI Assign Players"
However, I was able to resign from the national team and it continued normally. I've made it to the last game of pre-season with no issues

edit: I'm getting some really odd games such as 1 player getting into 3 fights in 15 seconds. A game with 200 face offs, 3 shots, etc..
