I've gotten quite a few questions about the Spritze DBs, so...
...I created a space to download both SpritzeHSforOOTP18 and SpritzeHSforOOTP19. Why both? The 18 version contains the best master.csv file of the two, and the 19 version is the last version ever made. I use the 18 master.csv file to look up players I'm interested in importing, and import them from the 19 historical_database.odb file.
Haven't encountered a situation where a player failed to import successfully. I have encountered that situation with players that don't use the playerID code that features the first five letters of the player's last name, followed by the first two letters of his first name, followed by the two digit numerical code (i.e. ruthba01 for Babe Ruth). Remember that if you hold your draft a year before the player's debut, you want to bring the player in the year before the year listed in column Z (Debut Year). I particularly like using the Draft Value feature, which is not available in the 19 version master.csv file. I noticed that the links to these masterpieces had understandably disappeared, and I couldn't bear the thought of them being lost forever. This is just my small way of honouring the man, the myth, and the legend of this great game. Links are here: SpritzeHSforOOTP18: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1qHD...1OQLMVyta/view SpritzeHSforOOTP19: https://drive.google.com/file/d/14FS...koGPXio65/view It takes a while for both of them to load up, but trust me, they're there. In the top right corner of both pages, there are buttons to download, to look at more actions, and to sign in. Hit the download button, and off you go. Enjoy! I'll put the links in my signature too. |

Also, I'm not sure if this warrants a sticky or not, but I'll leave that to the powers that be. Thank you.

Action, pardon my noobiness, but this kind of ties in with what I'm doing in one of my saves and I don't fully understand it.
I am manually bulk importing randomised players for each season's Draft using the MASTER.csv that comes with the game. But it appears there are huge discrepancies re IDs for FaceGen and I've been advised to use the historical version instead. Except I'm using Excel and there's no way to transition one to the other. I tried via OpenOffice and it's just a mess, way beyond my skillset and pay grade. You see any workaround here or do I just stick to the MASTER and manually change FG IDs as needed? Thanks G

Sorry for bumping an old thread, I just had a couple of questions. Does this database contain the players from the Negro Leagues? And If so what would be the best way to utilize them? I would assume They would automatically all be found on their negro league teams if I started in lets say 1921. Or would I not have to even enable the negro leagues and then the players would just be able to feed in from the yearly amateur draft/show up in the free agent pool, assuming I disabled the color barrier. Thank you for keeping the DB's alive! Much appreciated! |

The FaceGen stuff is a work in progress. They're discovering, and fixing the IDs. You'll want to check in with LansdowneSt, FancySkunk, and silvam14. Their work can be found in the Mods Section. I think there's another group that's going through, and making sure that the in game IDs match up with the FaceGen IDs that LS, FS, and s14 are so diligently working away at. The FaceGens are really starting to pop. Tedious work to get them all matched up, but I've seen incredible things from this community before, so I don't doubt that at some point it'll all be together. Can't be rushed though. You can actually manipulate some things without using a DB program. Dr. Doom put together a tool that allows you to break the .odb file down into it's component .csv files, which you can edit, and then convert back to an .odb file. Just tried it tonight, and it was superb. I don't know if it'll help with your FaceGen thing though. That may have to wait for the people working on it to get caught up. Until then, I would continue making changes in game. You could of course use this tool to fix up the IDs in the game, so that it would stick in your game, but without that, the player will import every time with the wrong ID. I'll get back to you with the link for Dr. Doom's utility. I was cursing a blue streak earlier today, trying to fix a guy who was given no RL numbers. I fixed it by fixing up the Spritze .csv files, and converting back to the .odb file, and it worked a charm. Way above my pay grade too. |

Not sure about straight up OOTP play, because I'm a Random Debut convert, since quite a while back. I wouldn't play any other way now. That may take me out of being able to help with specific questions on the straight up game, because I think I started with RD the second it became available. I also only use five rounds worth of players in each draft. No minor leagues, unlimited reserve rosters. My theory is that you have to keep it simple for the AI, but again, that's just me. As for the Spritze DBs, the toughest thing was figuring out how to make them accessible via Google Drive. The rest was easy. What better way to honour the man, than to have his work live on as long as possible? Off to find the Dr. Doom link for luckymann. I'm bowled over by how good it is. If a simpleton like me can figure out how to do it, anybody can. |

luckymann and Seven_:
Not sure that DrDoom's Database Converter works for either of your needs, but it is a Texas Mickey full of awesome sauce. Unbelievable! Might want to grab it, whether it's what you want or not. It's that good. https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...d.php?t=331147 |

I'm not so worried about the FG any more, as LSt and I have been working a lot together on various things and I just use his ones now. Fingers crossed I'll be able to get Doom's tool working and dive deep. Cheers pal. G

![]() Used DrD's Data Converter to fix poor ole Dan Marion (marioda01). He had zero RL stats in game, so I took his Spritze card, went to work on it with DrD's DC, and imported him, using the historical players import tool. In a situation like his, the Spritze stuff is better, because you can isolate the years he played in, by deleting off all the extraneous years around them. The default stats are much more complicated, and it wasn't a good fit, to make stuff up. For correcting basic stats, probably the default would work well, but to give a guy who doesn't have any, using Spritze makes more sense, because they're already there, and you don't have to make up the more complicated ones. He originally came in as a hapless 1B, who couldn't hit, couldn't play a position, couldn't do anything really, and would've been thrown out with the other broken toys. Thanks to DrD's utility, he can now be a pitcher (threw about 300 innings IRL). Nice to be able to correct these things, and have them stick. Not possible to have his changes stick, because of needing to use Spritze, but I'll know what to do with him next time I see him. I'll probably continue to correct minor little, non-stats related, clerical issues in-game, but I now have a weapon to deal with messed up player stats, and it is a game changer. Let me know if you have any questions about it, or pose them to DrD in the thread I linked to. Cheers! |
