Custom League NHL and AHL Playoffs Error
I started an NHL+AHL+CHL custom league and I changed the NHL and AHL playoff formats to the NHL 1999-2013 and it seemed to seed the teams at random. It mixed conferences and the seeds didn't seem to line up with how the teams finished. I'll send some screenshots for reference. The odd part is that this format worked in a new league I created in the same save, just not the NHL and AHL leagues

Yeah, something's definitely wrong there, it looks like it's taking the top 16 teams from the league standings and the seeding makes no sense at all. Probably an issue with switching from the 3-division per conference to 2-division leagues. We'll get that fixed.

Ok, thanks. And again, it's only happening in the NHL and AHL leagues that were part of the custom game template. I'm running the same playoff format of 8 teams per conference in a new league I made in the same save and it works fine.

The same thing happened to me--I expanded the ECHL to a 32 team/ 6 division (3 for Western conference and 3 for Eastern conference)
I changed the playoff format to 16 teams, 8 per Confer (NHL 1999-2013) and I'm getting teams from the western conference seeded on the eastern conference brackets and vise versa. |

I'm looking back at this and re-reading what JeffR said and realizing that I didn't change the divisional format. It's still 2 divisions per conference so I don't think that's the issue.

The latest update did not fix this. The game is recognizing the top 8 teams from each conference, but it's placing 8 western conf teams against 8 eastern conf teams for a 1st round series. Some teams from the west conf are on the eastern conf brackets and teams from the eastern conf are on the western conf brackets. |

Sounds like it may have been broken for leagues that have the format the system was originally designed for, we'll take a look.

I was hoping this issue would be solved in the update and it looked like it was but it seemed to not apply to my current save. Is that the case or do I need to do something to fix it?

It won't apply retroactively to older saves, since the data is already set in them.

Would it work if I make a new game off a quickstart or do I need to create a new game?

The quickstart will have the same problem, you would need to make a new one.
