The NMC situation

Hi guys,

I've spent a lot of times playing the Franchise Hockey Manager series since 2014, more than 1800 hours as you can see in my most played games on Steam. I love this serie and I want to thank you all.

I was waiting for the new update this week to try out a new playthrough for a standard game because the first time I had problems with too much waivers claims. But I still get a lot of weird decision because of the no movement clause based on the waiver claim. In this game, Nashville claimed 6 defencemans 1.5 stars or less after the preseason. Now after 1 game they have to waive Dante Fabbro a 2.5 stars 3.0 potential to make roster move. That doesn't make any sense. At this stage, i'm not sure about the NMC rules.

I will be patient it is not a problem, but I would like to know if the situation of the NMC rule will be evaluated?

I will go back for the moment with FHM7 because I have a historical playthrough to finish. Thank you!

I think there may be an issue with teams making multiple claims in a single day - it seems to be very rare, checking through a 12-year test save I only found one case comparable to this. But I think I know what loophole in the claim logic that this may be slipping through, we'll take a look at it.

Well, the same thing keep happening. Now it for 2 teams, Colorado and Florida has claimed each 7 defencemen and they are putting on waiver guys like Devon Toews and MacKenzie Weegar.

Hey dude,

Is this since the latest patch? Only ask as I was gonna start a new save but I think I'll hold off if this has started happening since!

Yeah I've started a new save and Colorado put Makar, Girard, and Toews on waivers, Florida also put a bunch of good dmen on waivers..

Panthers just waived Ekblad too...this isn't right surely?

Yeah I just had the Flyers trade for someone, then waive him the next day

Yeah something isn't right here. I had to go to commissioner mode and move them back to their teams, for them to waive them again....Hopefully they don't waive them again and I can carry on playing.

Maybe it is time to just make the NMC workaround something the player can toggle "on and off" via a hotfix until situation is resolved. Having to make all these changes in commissioner mode can be tedious.

Yeah I'm really hoping for this option as well. In my save -- which I wrote about in the Unrealistic Events thread pre-patch -- it was Winnipeg trading a 1st Round pick for Evan Bouchard and then waiving him three days later (it would've been hilarious if Edmonton picked him back up!).

It was a valiant attempt to do away with the Waiver Exploit, but it's easy enough to play with house rules (which every sports sim requires to some extent) until a more viable solution presents itself.

Just reoffering the player to all teams would be closer to reality (Is it the goal to implement the real rule at some point ?) ... Then have 2* players be worthless in trades since they are available everywhere around the world (for the NHL at least).

Happy to say I haven't run into anything along these lines, but it's definitely enough to make you wonder what they're smokin' in the front office.
