Anybody else playing historical seeing this?

In my historical game starting in 1995, there is almost no player movement via free agency - every team resigns all of their players (I'm also playing without a draft so it's almost impossible to improve your team).

I assume it's because the financials are off and teams have enough money to keep whoever they want? Has anyone found a way to fix this?

What year are you currently in? Players were at least 30 when they got their first FA, so many didn't move.

It wasn't that long ago it dropped.

I've completed three seasons, but it wasn't this way on FHM3, and after year 1 (mid-June), the Upcoming FA list was full of 4-5 star players, and by the time free agency rolled around, they were all gone. There hasn't been a player rated better than 1.5 stars that has hit free agency - every star keeps re-upping with their current team.

FA rules were different in the 90s. I also play historical in that time period, and find it to be fairly accurate. If you go look at the historical FAs signed in 95, it's a lot of lesser players or players approaching the end of their career. That is because teams kept players rights for a lot longer back then.

It should change to something we are more accustomed to within just a couple more years in your universe, as changes to Free Agency were made after the 1995 season IRL if I recall correctly. Then more changes were made following the 2005 lockout.

I noticed it but also remember there wasn't a ton of FA movement in the 90's it was more trades, I am currently into the mid 2000's and it's started to pick up more with player movement that way

OK, fair enough, although I will say I had several decent-to-good players opt to become free agents, only to end up signing with me. I haven't seen the same on AI teams though.
