Where are we going to get the money to replace the players we have when we are promoted to the next level and most of our team is taken up at that level? Sorry, but I think it is a terrible idea. It is a game.

There aren't enough players to support a "no duplicates" scenario. In all of MLB history, there have been about 20,000 players. With 7,000 teams currently in PT, that would leave only 3 players per team. Each historical player would have to have an average of 9 versions of himself, and that would result in almost every player in history being represented for every season - a massive and unnecessary change. Even if it was done, there would be no additional players to try and obtain at that point.

I understand the frustration of similar rosters, but in a world-wide game like this where you have thousands of teams, there simply isn't any way to get rid of duplicates.

I get the feeling OP would be the only person opting in to such a league, so there would truly be no duplicates.

Something similar could work if every card had a unique name and ratings hidden. A stats only variation for Perfect Team. There would be no way to download performance data to determine the "meta", either. Only you would know the ratings and real names of the players on your own team, but every other team would be fictional names with no ratings that you could see.
