Union League Baseball Accepting Applications

Union League Baseball recently completed it's 46th season, and has now converted to OOTP23. We also have some incredible teams open, some for the first time in years.

We strive to be one of the best online league experiences you can have, presenting a fair league where almost anyone can build a contender and advance to the playoffs. Not saying it's an easy process, but 70% of the league has won our Championship at least once in league history. Two of our opening represent a chance of taking over a club and winning the Championship for the first time in that club's history. Half the league has been around for 18 seasons or longer.

The ULB began as a competitor to the MLB in 1995, and has grown to 24 teams. The ULB and MLB Champions now play each other at the end of the playoffs in the Doubleday Classic in an alternate reality where baseball has grown in popularity worldwide, with an international league growing in popularity in Europe, Africa and Asia. The IPBL has absorbed teams from the ***, KBO, and others.

Of the open teams, we have three that made the Playoffs in 2041. Toronto's owner has stepped down after 41 seasons and a 9th Union Cup championship. The long time Washington GM left at the start of 2041, and have several star players. Charlotte is the 3rd team to make the playoffs after a drought of 17 seasons, and looks to be a strong future contender with a well rounded team.

On the Flipside, both New Orleans and New Mexico represent teams in the bottom half of the league that are in the midst of rebuilds. Both have strong farm systems. They also both play in the Central division that was unusually weak last year, so the time may be right for one or both of them to take over.

We sim 7 days at a time during the regular season on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday.
All playoff games are live simmed.
Fair financial system with minimum budgets, and revenue sharing.
No scouts.
Coaches, but minimal cohesion effect.
10 teams out of 24 make the playoffs.
Draft lottery determines the top 3 draft choices, draft picks are tradable one year out.
Trade committee reviews all trades, with alternates.
We use Stats+ and Slack for communication.

This is a really enjoyable league to be in, and was a fantastic first league for me to join way back when I was beginning to look into OOTP online leagues. Full of nice GMs who are happy to help new folks, and with a few very exciting teams coming up available. Do stop in and get to building a dynasty to compete with us.
