TNBL League !

True Neutral Baseball League (TNBL) is a fictional league looking for a few GMs to join. We are making the switch to OOTP 23 for the start of the offseason. We are a group of 20 teams, with a good mixture of longtime and new GMs. Great group of GMs.

We typically sim 5 days a week (Sunday to Thursday) with each sim being 7 days. We use slack for league communication and do not require writing.

The open teams are Springfield, Dallas and Vinson. I will put the URL to your stats plus page so you can check us out in more detail. Scouts and Coaches are turned off and all other settings are pretty standard. If you are interested or have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out via private message or my email, which I will list below.

Stats Plus: Hey,

I have a few openings in an online fictional league. We are making the jump to 23 in a few days. We are currently wrapping up the playoffs and will be opening the offseason on the new version. We are a group of 20 teams. We use Slack for league communication. I will post an address to our Stats Plus page for you to check out. The open teams are Dalla, Springfield, and Vinson. Let me know if you are interested or if you have any questions. Thanks!

This is a great, faster-paced league with a rich history and dedicated sim team. With the switch to 23, we may have 2 more teams open up too. We’re entering the playoffs now, so it’s a great time to get in ahead of the offseason, which will start next week. Of the teams that are open, Vinson is actually the #3 seed in the playoffs. And we are open to allowing GMs to relocate their team.

Stay away....if you disagree with [someone in particular] he kicks you out. After being with the league for 15 seasons, and had no issues, an issue came up and he just kicks....they also have had to consolidate because of lack of owners.....

Hi, I'm the commish of this league. I'm only going to respond once because I know the community has little tolerance for this and we're all tired of wombats' drama in the league. I've been playing OOTP since 2008 and I've been fortunate enough to make more friends than waves. And if anyone is actually concerned about what wombats said, I'm happy to discuss it in detail. For posterity, here's what happened, for anyone who cares (probably no one):

- Our simmer simmed the end of the regular season (9/20/55-9/26/55)

- Wombats claimed his export wasn't used and he missed the playoffs as a result. Also that there may have been something fishy about the tiebreaker applied in the standings.

- The tiebreaker is automatically applied in-game (as called out in our league constitution) and no one has manual control of it. Wombats was unaware that's how the tie breaker worked.

- The Statsplus export page shows no export for Wombats for the game date 2055-09-20. So, if something happened to the export, it was a network problem or user error.

- I tried to explain this to him, and Wombats accused and insulted the simmers (and me, in particular , who didn't even sim last night) of shenanigans and wouldn't drop it even when the whole Statsplus thing was explained multiple times.

- Wombats continued insults on the general forum, refused to apologize, so the simmers and I removed Wombats from the league, and the league continues on.

And if anyone still has questions, I'm happy to talk and provide references from OOTP people in and ousidet of the league lol... Joke aside, Wombatsgot bent out of shape because his 72-89 team missed the playoffs and dominated the Slack channel for 12 hours crying foul and insulting people who didn't run the sim. This is the last this post will hear from me on this particular matter (sorry mods if this is out of bounds).

Come join us! We're a lot of fun!

[someone in particular] has a warped sense of what happened. The only insults tossed about were from [someone in particular], essentially saying your record was bad so shut up. This document says this so you are wrong, yet there were other ways to explain what happened. At no time did I suggest a rerun. When asked about what the tiebreakers were no one could answer, they had to check out various things.

[someone in particular] is arrogant and will not even consider other things that may have happened. I was very polite and after 15 seasons he just kicks out....there is a reason they had to consolidate from 24 to 20 and have a hard time finding people to stick around. Lots of leagues around I would suggest go to those instead of this one. It once was great when Will ran it, but now its [someone in particular]'s league and [someone in particular] appears to have a power thing going on.

[someone in particular] says tired of my drama. I specifically wrote the first time I wanted no drama, I had concerns, and did some research and found out what [someone in particular] was saying was not all true, and I was thinking about leaving after this season had to think about it. Interesting he says I was dominating for 12 hours, I was in bed sleeping most of those hours....LOL

If you notice [someone in particular] refers to himself in the third party after saying he is [someone in particular]....that should be a clue. The only insult that might be considered is me saying [someone in particular] was arrogant for not considering other things than I did not import, which the game gave me confirmation I did.

Anyway beware before joining [someone in particular]'s league. With other choices, pick those.

Have a great day!!!

For the record, [someone in particular] kept calling himself "[someone in particular]" in that summary because it was mostly copy and pasted from the summary that I had written for the channel as a third party not involved in the argument, so people didn't have to scroll through the pages of chat overnight. It's accurate, especially the part about how Statsplus doesn't show Mark as having uploaded an export for the sim being discussed and no one in the league has control over Statsplus' exports page (so if one was uploaded but went missing somehow, it's some error that wasn't the fault of anyone in the league).

I joined TNBL about six seasons ago and have been loving it! Everyone is passionate (which I guess sometimes creates a dust-up, but it's better than having a dead league or dead chat). I've been playing offline and online baseball sims in some form or another (starting with Whatifsports back in the day) on and off for about 20 years and this is the most fun I've had with it.

The trade market is active (maybe too active in my case as I've had a few trades backfire this season) and the league is full of people following along closely enough to discuss players that aren't even on their team hitting career (or season) milestones and doing a little back and forth chatter during a playoff livesim (which is way more stressful to follow along with than I had anticipated!).

So, I'd say definitely come and join us!

This league is an incredible league with great GMs. Have been in this league for 28 seasons and has by far been the best online league I have ever been a part of. Come see for yourself!

TNBL is my first online league and the only one I've cared to stay in. Really standup group here and all are engaged. I've had export issues before, where a trade was missed, or a roster move didn't show. Painlessly and politely corrected when I notified the simmers. Perhaps my tone and delivery is a bit different than others.

It was a good league once upon a time, and I freely admit that but it has gone down hill quickly. What these individuals are not telling you is about how rules change without full discussion and only that of a small group headed by the new person in charge, the same individual who is unwilling to look at other possibilities, has temper tantrums and deletes people. The recent rule change was to go 28 players on the main roster and just implementing it. After people asked then there was a discussion but it had already been implemented. Good leagues do not have to consolidate by 20%. From 24 to 20. Many leagues have run many years with 30 plus teams.

Do yourself a favour and check out the other leagues, save the frustration. There is little respect unless you are in the clique....

I hope everyone ignores Wombats or "Big Mark" as he likes to be called. He is just bitter because he was removed for viciously attacking our Commissioner in an open forum for all to see. As we all know, these things are usually handled in PMs to the Commissioner or anyone else you can trust when something has happened. There is always disagreements or things that come up or need to be addressed in leagues. However, Big Mark decided to do this publicly and disturb our whole league which is just unacceptable in any league.

I did no such thing, calling someone arrogant is not vicious. Having a little clique that just implements changes without discussing all owners is an issue. Blaming one person when there are other ways things could have happened, and then deleting them is likely seen as vicious. This was a good league, and I stayed for 15 seasons. The mention I might leave because I found things troubling is what started a hot-tempered individual to go off. This has become a bad league unfortunately so if you go into it, go in eyes wide open as they say. If you are okay with rules changing midstream with only consultation of a few "buddies", and funny things happening just before playoffs, then this league is yours.

Have a great day!!!
