How do I make the game look good on mac?

I'm playing on a new M1 laptop, and I'm getting all kinds of annoying visual issues. Mainly text getting cut off in various places and backgrounds that make text unreadable (mainly the top menu). Is this a resolution issue? Is there a way to make the background not a team or MLB related photo that makes text impossible to read?

I have the same setup, with high resolution and a 17-inch monitor, and no such problems. I would go to the field view menu on the game play screen, and fiddle around with the options there. You can, of course, choose your stadium, widgets, and placement on your screen. I’ve not experienced the background issue, but I’m confident that can be controlled - shut off. Your experience is not the default view.

Can you take a screenshot of what you are seeing? Are you in 3D mode? How large is your monitor? (I also play on my PC laptop, and it can be annoying to fit text box widgets around the field on a smaller screen.). Text size can be an issue, too. I struggle between reducing the size, to fit in more data, and then having to wear my cheater specs to read it. LOL.

I set my resolution to 2560x1600 on my 14" M1 MacBook Pro. This is how it looks for me.

I haven't made it to a game or stadium / 3D view yet. Here are some pictures of screens with the annoying backgrounds. Some seem to default to my team colors and are readable, and some are not.

Could it be a theme that you are using? Did you download any mods?

Have you tried switching to the Dark Skin? My primary machine is a 16" MacBook Pro, and it's a big improvement in visibility.

I do have the dark skin active. I have the All In One mod installed, but don't see why that would change this?

The All in One mod adds a lot of custom backgrounds, so I think that's what's happening here.

That, too. High contrast backgrounds don't seem to be helpful, nor do overly busy ones...as I found out in my Upper Peninsula League.

you could go down into the OOTP folder and remove the backgrounds you find troublesome...or remove them all.

While you're at it, take the OOTP folder and drop it into your Dock for ease of access.

How do I make it so all pages default to the normal team-colored background like a couple of the ones do below?

1. Open OOTP
2. Open Settings
3. Open Troubleshooting Tab
4. Select "Open folder containing customizable data."
5. Open the "backgrounds" folder
6. Select the backgrounds you want out and trash them...they're not vital to operation.

Your default backgrounds should be restored. You MAY need to perform a restart of the game.

If you want a quick and easy way to access the OOTP folder, navigate to it again. Press Command-Up Arrow. Drag the OOTP Baseball 23 folder into your dock at the right end (careful, not the trash like I once did) and drop it into the dock. Now, anytime you want to get at the folder, you have a nice quick shortcut there. I gave mine a custom icon so it looks snazzy to me, but it's far from necessary.
