NCAA signing day bug

Not sure if this has happened to anyone else, but on my second year national signing day, I have a bug where players I am declining to compete to sign are then signing with me anyway. I have first "nomination" and take a player from my commits. The computer then goes and nominates some scrub that I say no to. Then down in the draft board, it says he signed with me and he then shows up in my unsigned list. I ignored it at first until I got to my second nomination and wasn't able to offer any scholarships despite having 4 outgoing full scholarships. Couldn't figure it out. Reloaded, tried again. Started decommitting from the guy that would sign with me immediately, and this time it said I had reached my roster limit and I couldn't even nominate on my turn. Reloaded again and this is when I noticed that a whole slew of recruits I was declining were signing with me (apparently with scholarships, too). Six in total in the first round.

Can you upload that save (instructions here)? I'm not sure what could be going on there, I think we'll need to have a look at the save itself to figure out what's going wrong.

It seems to work normally when I try it. Which player did you try to nominate the first time?

I've tried nominating John Whipple and Cole Eiserman. Lake Superior always then nominates Landon West. West then gets assigned to Minnesota regardless of what I do.

Not sure if this has anything to do with what I was experiencing, but I started a new game to replace this one and in the previous game, when I lost 4 players to early signings, the game "reassigned" their scholarships...something I didn't notice until I was at signing day and saw I had far fewer scholarships available. When I looked at my team I saw that players that were previously non scholarship now had some. I thought this was intended and felt it kinda stole some of my scholarship control. Now, in the new game, I haven't gotten to signing day yet, but my scholarships are at 14/18 representing the 4 early signings (same 4). So scholarships haven't been automatically reassigned.

Yeah, the scholarship reassignment was a bug we fixed in this week's update, the AI check to maximize scholarship use was being run on the human teams as well when it shouldn't have been.

The signing bug has, unfortunately, occurred again in my new game. I made it through the second year signing day without issue. 3rd year seemed to be going okay, and then suddenly, in the 3rd round I some random player I declined to offer to shows as signing with me. Then also the next one. Then the next player, when I declined to offer but wanted to be shown each nom, it instead acted as if I had selected not to be shown any other noms (I am 100% sure I clicked the right button, I was paying attention due to the previous two being signed by me despite my button pushing) so something is definitely off here. I lost out on my own recruits because another team nominated them and I didn't have the opportunity to offer scholarship. So I quit the game. I should also note that when this is happening, I am also able to steal some top rated recruits simply by offering without a scholarship.
Happening on replay as well. I will upload this file as Gophers3.zip
The first player this occurs on in this save is Anthony Alessi, in round 2

OK, got an example of it in that one, not the same one you saw but it's enough to work with. My first guess is that the AI procedure to check for competing offers is somehow not excluding player-run teams in some cases; if that's it, should be a simple enough fix.

It looks like this bug was supposed to be fixed in the latest maintenance update, but I just had the same issue in my second year during signing day. I would not compete for players who would then end up committing to me and taking up scholarships. I double checked the build and it is the most recent one. I didn't save and am about to try again and hope it doesn't happen. Let me know if you need me to upload my save if it happens again.

I wonder if it wasn't retroactive; that is, it is fixed for new saves?

It should be fixed everywhere, not just new saves. I think we'll need to see any saves where it's still happening.

Thanks for the reply Jeff. I uploaded my game to the FTP in a zip file named "MT 1.30.23.lg".

I just bought the game and started this save a few days ago. The game is currently in the middle of NSD in my second season, several players I wasn't competing for have already committed to my school and I lapsed their rights. At this point, I can't offer any more scholarships, and I am assuming that is because the AI offered them and lapsing their rights hasn't given them back to me. I can still make an offer for a player without a scholarship and some will even accept, but then they don't actually join my unsigned list or show up in the commitment list afterwards, maybe because my roster would be full if they committed?

Not sure if you did anything in the background or not, but I started a new game and have now made it through a few signing days with no issues! So hopefully it was fixed or I messed it up somehow in the first place.
