Contract automatically renewed

Hi,

1. Did it occur with you too that instead of renegotiating the expiring contract for you, once your contract expires, the owner simply renews it automatically with the same amount?
It's kinda annoying, because I need to make myself fired, if I want to leave the team, and no chance to receive a better salary with the same team.
If it's a settings, how can I turn it off?

2. In addition, when I was coaching in lower leagues, I received offers from higher prestige leagues, so I could accept and move up, eventually arriving to the NHL. But since then I don't receive offers from other teams (NHL or other). Do you know why?
I'd love to move to a different team, potentially my favorite team eventually, without resigning and hoping they will offer me something.
