How do you cancel Challenge Cup, NHL plays the same time?

How do you cancel Challenge Cup, NHL plays the same time? The Challenge Cup starts at on Feb. 7, The next NHL game starts on the 9th.
It's 1978. I don't have enough good players to do both. I need to cancel the Challenge Cup to play the NHL games. I can't believe that schedule would allow the two to be played at the same time. I had to generate a schedule as
MIN had to move as CLE folded. Maybe that caused the problem.

I can see you remove Canda Cup and 2 others but not the Challenge Cup.

Just lost games because of this stupid bug.

Something wrong with the 78 season. I won The SC and did not get the usual recap of series played and scores. It jumped to the Intraleague draft.

It can't be cancelled, but it sounds like it isn't leaving a spot in the schedule for it when a new schedule is generated, we'll get that fixed.
