Create A Team For Me

I'm always unsure where to put these types of threads. I want eyes on it and not everyone checks the various dynasty forums.

Help me create a White Sox team

Rules
1. White Sox only 1901-2021
2. Player comes in at year he 1st appeared with white Sox, Rookies will have minor league deal, all others whatever contract OOTP gives them.
3. 27 man roster, 30 players overall. I will choose the final 3. 14 P/13 hitters

I will bump this thread on occasion.

I asked some prominent White Sox Twitter people for help

1b Frank Thomas
2b Ray Durham
3b Pete Ward
SS Luke Appling
Lf Rudy Law
Cf Chet Lemon
Rf Avisail Garcia
C A.J. Pierzynski
DH Manny Ramirez

bench
C Ray Schalk
C/DH Yermin Mercedes
OF John Cangelosi
If Tyler Saladino
If Paco Martin
If/Of Leury Garcia
Of Willy Garcia
1b Chick Gandil

Rotation
SP Richard Dotson R
SP Mark Buehrle L
Sp Britt Burns L
SP Jack McDowell R
SP Kip Wells R

Pen
CL Dustin Hermanson R
SU Bobby Thigpen R
LR Wilbur Wood L
MR Jim Parque L
Spec Damaso Marte L
MR Rick White R
MR Italo Chelini L
MR Ken Holcombe R
MR charlie Haeger

MGR - Jim Fregosi
PC - Don Cooper
HC Deron Johnson
all other coaches are fictional

Bobby Thigpen in the Bullpen
Black Jack McDowell in the Rotation

I can go on but i will let others get a spot.

Really someone on White Sox twitter recommended Leury Garcia?

While i do want this team to win, putting every great player on the team at one time, leaves me with no stars later on. i keep rebooting this league but i want to do a long term White Sox league where i use every Sox player 1901 - today. i am also using all the cheap owners we have had. i am starting with Bill Veeck.

My 3 are C/DH Yermin, LHP Damaso marte & RHP Rick White. Still need 3 more relievers.

Maybe I don't grasp the whole concept, but I don't see Dick Allen on the list. Maybe he's too old for your purposes. In which case..no Minnie? He was 27 when he hit Comiskey and slugged over .400 for a decade I wouldn't start Rudy Law over him anyway, although I appreciate squeezing in your favorite players just because, I sure do it all the time.

Here's what ChatGPT gave me:

Starting Lineup:

Luke Appling (SS) - Appling played for the White Sox from 1930 to 1950, earning seven All-Star selections and a lifetime batting average of .310.

Frank Thomas (1B) - Thomas was a dominant force in the 1990s and 2000s, earning five All-Star selections and two MVP awards while hitting .307 with 448 home runs.

Minnie Miñoso (LF) - Miñoso was a speedster and a fan favorite, earning three All-Star selections and a lifetime batting average of .298 over his 17-year career.

Shoeless Joe Jackson (CF) - Although his career was cut short by the Black Sox scandal, Jackson was one of the best hitters of his time, earning a lifetime batting average of .356.

Nellie Fox (2B) - Fox was a tough, hard-nosed player who earned 12 All-Star selections and a lifetime batting average of .288 over his 19-year career.

Harold Baines (DH) - Baines was a steady presence in the White Sox lineup for many years, earning six All-Star selections and hitting .289 with 384 home runs.

Joe Jackson (RF) - Jackson was a five-time All-Star and one of the best power hitters of his time, hitting .390 with 36 home runs in the Black Sox's infamous 1919 season.

Carlton Fisk (C) - Fisk was a legendary catcher and one of the best hitters of his time, earning 11 All-Star selections and hitting 376 home runs over his 24-year career.

Starting Pitchers:

Eddie Cicotte (RHP) - Cicotte was one of the top pitchers of his era, earning 29 wins and a 1.53 ERA in the 1919 season.

Billy Pierce (LHP) - Pierce was a seven-time All-Star and one of the best left-handed pitchers of his time, earning a lifetime record of 211-169 and a 3.27 ERA.

Mark Buehrle (LHP) - Buehrle was a durable and reliable pitcher, earning four All-Star selections and a lifetime record of 214-160 with a 3.81 ERA.

Ted Lyons (RHP) - Lyons was a standout pitcher, earning 260 wins and a 3.67 ERA over his 21-year career.

Early Wynn (RHP) - Wynn was a dominant pitcher, earning 300 wins and a 3.54 ERA over his 23-year career.

Relief Pitchers:

Hoyt Wilhelm (RHP) - Wilhelm was a dominant relief pitcher, earning 143 saves and a 2.52 ERA over his 21-year career.

Bobby Thigpen (RHP) - Thigpen set a major league record with 57 saves in 1990, earning All-Star honors that year.

Eddie Collins (LHP) - Collins was a standout pitcher and fielder, earning a lifetime record of 109-69 and a 2.51 ERA over his 14-year career.

Bench:

Jim Landis (OF) - Landis was a solid outfielder and a two-time All-Star, earning a lifetime batting average of .267.

A.J. Pierzynski (C) - Pierzynski was a solid catcher and a one-time All-Star, hitting .

Evidently they think Joe Jackson and Shoeless Joe Jackson are two different people, I dunno.

Dick Allen will appear at some point.. every Sox player will. Allen isn;t a great Lf in OOTP. i prefer him at 1b/DH. I am trying to put together the best teams, not a team that will dominate for 8+ years with 100+ years oif suckage.

See previous comment. Not only would i not be able to re-sgn most of these with Bill Veeck as the Owner, i would be great for a few seasons, lose many to FA then suck for a long time. i'd rather bring in the greats a little at a time.

Fisk will appear at some point but i do not need 3 great C on 1 team. as it is I have 2. My 3rd string is Yermin. Fisk will probably appear aafter Schalk or AJ leaves.

i have a HOFer and Pierzynski. defensively, neither are great though. offensively Schalk is decent. AJ us set to start every 3 games vs RHP. 1 every 6 vs LHP. My typical C I pick for my Sox teams are Charles Johnson, Ron Karkovice or Miguel Olvio as i prefer their defense.
