A Couple of Newb Questions

So I've been playing a few weeks now, mostly in an historical season that started in 2010 - I had to make sure the NHL continued to experience the greatness of my beloved Thrashers - and a few things have popped up that I'm curious how to fix or if they are just part of the game. I looked for answers here but haven't found any:

1) Somewhat frequently, I run into an issue where when I try to sign a player who I own the rights to, I usually start by hitting "meet demands" so I can be in the ballpark when negotiating. I am seeing where the primary role is "offensive forward" but their reaction is: "I don't want to be an offensive forward and if you want that, it will cost you. I would prefer to be an offensive forward." Whatever I change their primary role to, they aren't happy and eventually they get ticked off and won't sign. I kind of RP this as they just don't want to sign with my team as I have seen that in the past (I'm looking at YOU Ilya Nikulin!) and I eventually trade them so I can get some value out of them as opposed to just letting them walk. Is this a "bug" or feature that can be worked out? I have tried ending negotiations and restart with no luck

2) During the draft, year in and year out, after about the third or fourth round, there are no more NA players available and just European guys. In and of itself its not a big deal but just seems a bit odd. What If I want to go all Don Cherry on my draft and only select Canadians? My thought is that I may have missed adding a league or hitting a check box somewhere when I started the campaign. When I click on the globe icon, the leagues shown are Sweden and United States so maybe I missed something. Is there something I can do to "fix" this?

3) Now that I am eight seasons in, can I add and ECHL team to my minor league affiliates? I think it defaulted to just the AHL team at the beginning and I can't find any option to add leagues. Perhaps this is related to question #2 above?

For the first one, that sounds like a bug we're currently looking into. Hoping to have it fixed for the update.

There tends to be a lot of Europeans available in later rounds of the historical draft because they're in the database to fill out the rosters for international play. I'm working on gradually adding all the drafted real players to the database, so North America will eventually get caught up.

For the third one, there's no way to add additional leagues to historical games, just custom/fictional games. Hoping to add that down the road at some point, but it'll be a big project.
