I like when funny, random things happen in the game, for example, I am playing games on August 29, 2039. On the same day:

My first baseman, Vaughn Neckar, hit his 500th home run. I drafted him first overall in 2025.

On the same day the Padres' Vance Honeycutt hit his 500th home run. He was drafted 3rd overall in 2025 by Tampa Bay.

What are the odds?

Neckar trails in WAR by about 20, but he's 32 and is currently hitting .268/.322/.558 with 44 home runs. Honeycutt is 36 and is hitting .216/.297/.439 with 27 home runs. I think Neckar has a shot at a better career in the end.

For the record, the 2nd overall pick, Charlie Bock, played 1 major league game getting 1 at bat. He did not get a hit.
