It's time to retire from my sim; advice requested
After being a GM for 27 seasons in my fictional league, (my first ever OOTP experience; three different franchises, fired twice, eight playoff appearances with two WS), I think it's time to retire and start a brand new 27-year career sim. I would like to be able to sim the game forward at the end of my current season for about the next 10 years and see what the new GM for my team does with the farm system I put together.
Is there a way that I can retire and then continue to watch my league without having to have a job with another team in this case? Already looking forward to my new fictional league; love this game! |

Yes, just quit your job and keep simming.

Also, if you put the game in commissioner mode, you won't continue to get job offers.

When you get fired, it is a pretty short email, telling you that you have been fired, (wish I had grabbed a screenshot), but there is always another job to be had. I grabbed the next job with a few games left for a team in a brutal season and then got dinged by the owner for not meeting the season goals for the last guy in the remaining few games, which was odd. I've now spent the past 13 seasons with that team, (lowest budget by far and had never had a season of over 60 wins before I took over) and have built up a great farm system, with several playoff runs and a WS appearance and have retained an Excellent managerial rating for some time now. I hope I'm getting the hang of this. This forum and the guys on You Tube have helped a lot. Still, it sucks getting canned and then watching the teams you built go on to multiple playoffs Last edited by efnratz; 02-15-2023 at 05:55 PM. |

When my GM gets to retirement age I retire that GM create another and play as the new GM. I realize this wasn't the question but people might not be aware the game allows this.

I also do a flavor of this when my GM retires. I sim between 10-20 years before creating my new GM.

I did not know that could be done. I may do this alongside my new fictional league, with new cities and teams.
