Player Unretirement in Commissioner Mode

Looking to move up from FHM4 one of these days, but just curious. One of the issues I had with that game with historical leagues was when the game engine decided to retire a player, there was no way to manually go back in commissioner mode and unretire them (the edit button being greyed out).

Has that changed in later versions of FHM?

Haven't been able to find this one item through scouring patch notes and figured it faster to just ask here.

When you set up the historical game you can choose to not have players retire and such when they did in reality.
