Pre-season "Season Preview" - scoring race
Season Preview is shows sometime weird players.
For example this. One of the top 3 Art Ross Trophy favorites is a player, who had in last season only 26 points in 74 games. Also his stats from previous seasons are very week. |

And yet he's four stars?! What's the percentages on talent from stats vs. talent from ratings? Or whatever that terminology is. I wonder if it's largely a star issue for scoring race, and if stars are driven by ratings significantly more than stats.

Yeah, that's exactly what it is - I had to dig through some really old design documents to find it, but I think what happened there was that the original plan was to have that line be a reference to the MVP contenders, so it used the overall rating to choose 3 players. But then it got changed to split it into top scorers and top defencemen/goalies, but the criteria didn't change. I'll switch that to a better measurement.
