Crash When Playing First Game
After starting a new game as the Kansas City Royals, I set my opening day roster and set rotations and lineups. I simmed a couple of days to opening day. Then when I click to play the game, the lineup screen pops up just fine but when I click to play the game, the blue circle starts spinning, I hear crowd noise and then the game crashes.
This is on a windows 10 dell laptop. I've restarted the computer and made sure the drivers were updated. It's happened 4 straight times. I uploaded my DAT files under jackson.zip. |

This sounds like a video or OpenGL issue. The first thing to would be to update your video card drivers.
Since you've done that, then the next thing to try would be to see if you can get into a game by changing the 3d or OpenGL mode. To do this, go to the game's main screen, then to settings > 3d & facegen. Try disabling 3d features/OpenGL support and se if the game works without that. You can also try each different OpenGL mode to see if one of them lets you into the game with 3d on. If one of those settings works for you, let us know which one it is. If none do, then try playing out a game with debug mode on and post the resulting trace file here for us to check out.

That does seem to be the issue. When I disabled 3d features/open GL it worked.
