How Do You Start OOTP
Here is what I do:
1) I set all of the rosters for AAA and AA teams to a 28-player limit. 2) Then, I set the rosters for A+ teams to a 30-player limit w/ pro services time limit six years 3) Set rosters for A- teams to 30-player limit w/ pro services time limit five years 4) Set rosters for ACL and FCL to no-limit w/ pro services time limit four years 5) Set rosters for DRL to 35-player limit w/ pro services time limit four years. This prevents veteran players from appearing on minor-league rookie teams. If they're already on the team, they will be DFA'd. Totally optional, but you can also go to Baseball Reference and enter the League Totals for the previous season or any previous year under the League Totals/Modifiers for MLB and the Minor Leagues. Personally, I use the default settings if I'm playing the current season. I also check the free agents to see if there are any players who are retired. MLBTradeRumors is a good place to check for this. There are also duplicates of coaches/managers/trainers whom I'll usually "retire" so there is only one of someone like, say, Kyle Haines. Once I make all of my changes, I save the game as a QuickStart and put it on a thumb drive. That way, if I ever want to start the season, I have all of the changes set up for the game. |
