Is it just the scout?

I have a batter with 45 45 45 45
Pretty average player but has been batting in the low .320s with good power.
Quick question: bad scout or an average batter is just playing above himself?
How do you know?

Things to look at and questions to ask yourself, in no particular order..

How long has this been going on? What is the sample size?

Watch performance over time. Ride whatever streak he's on and see where it goes.

How has he hit over his career, compared to now?

Look at his BABIP. Is it well above league average?

Run a fresh scouting report.

How does OSA rate him compared to your scout?

Sure the scout may not be "seeing" and evaluating him accurately. I think the only way to figure that out is through observation.
