Historical Question
Haven't played a historical save in forever
Started one up and I can't remember if 33 year olds actually improve or not. So many will be rated 35/50 or whatever, so mostly curious if the ratings recalc is off, if they peak in a typical fashion, or should I be expecting some jumps from 35 year olds? |

With just dev on and no recalc, a lot of it will depend on your TCR setting. The higher it is, the more volatility of player performance.
That said, I would think it's less likely of a 35-yo than "younger" players, which is kind of how it works IRL. One factor of the game remains - even if there is improvement in a veteran player, it won't be reflected in a differential between OVR and POT, which freezes at 30 as far as I'm aware. G

We need a lot more information to understand what you are trying to do with historicals.
Are these real players or some kind of fictional setup? Are you using recalc? Can you provide some example players/years (if historical players)? The game does not usually show the potentials for a player over 30 (at that point it just sets their potentials to their current ratings) as it is unlikely (but not impossible) for a player to develop further at that point. However, the development engine has to be on for that to even matter... |

If you want to closely replicate a season, use historical txns and lineups. If you want a historically accurate simulation then use 1-year recalc. If you want it to loosely resemble the historical, use 3-year or 5-year. If you want some more randomness, jack up TCR. Or just use dev only. So many choices, yet all I ever see from your posts is pointless and inane complaints. You're a bit like a guy married to a supermodel complaining that her feet smell. Not sure what more you could expect from this product or, more importantly, if it disappoints you so, why you still use it. Is it perfect? No, of course not - there are very few things in life even close to perfect. But it's by far the best there is. So just be happy it exists or walk away from the thing is my unsolicited advice. G
