Can't Promote International Players

When I am trying to promote players from the Domincan League teams to the FCL and higher, I am getting an error telling me those players can't be assigned there due to them not "matching the rules"

What would those rules be? And is there a way to bypass them so they aren't just stuck in the DSL?

Thanks!

They may have too much service time for the US complex leagues if they been in the DSL for a while. You might have to promote them to full season ball in that case.

That makes sense, and that worked for some of my players, but I also have a few where I can't promote them to A or A+ either

no way, did real-life pro limits make their way into the standard game!?

Yeah, been that way in the beta for a couple weeks now

It's not actually real-life, I think we default like a year less service time than real life and also don't have the overage players rule. But it's close.

Is there a way to turn this off?

I can't promote any of my international players to Low A or High A, they all end up needing to go right to AA, and if I promote them early enough where they are allowed to go to Low A or High A, they aren't ready yet and get crushed.

This is really frustrating, and I am not sure this is the same as it is in real life or not, but it makes it tough to fill out my lower minors rosters.

Go to league settings, select the minor league level from the dropdown box in the upper right, then select the Rules tab. On this page you can modify age and service time restrictions for the league.

I think the core problem is that players are getting forced into the DSL as young as 16, so they get too much service time before they're a decent age for the real minor leagues.

This is how it works in real-life, so it's not really a problem imo. Most any good players end up playing in the DSL at 16 or 17 at the latest. No one actually signs for a team and then sits around for several years without playing in the DSL.

Basically, you don't want to leave guys in the DSL for the max amount of time, especially if they're somewhat promising. You should try to promote them to the US complex leagues while they're still eligible there ( 3 years service time).

We can probably look at adjusting he service time limits a touch to lower the DSL service time so you don't get the cases of a guy playing 5-6 years in the DSL and then not eligible to go to the lower US leagues.
