Discrepancy between exported data and in-game data

This is for FHM9 but from what I understand, it's still an issue in FHM10.

I export the data every season and put it in a spreadsheet. I'm noticing that the ratings for some players on my team (usually 2-3 per year) are different in the CSV export than what is showing on their player profile and edit screen. It's not in every category, but it is in most, and the value in the CSV export is inflated by one.

I've attached an example for my current season. This is the first time I've done a line-by-line comparison but it looks like the values on the player page (PP) and edit screen (EDIT) are the same, but differ from the export (CSV).

My scouting is maxed (20.0) for every US and Canadian region.

I have also had this in my use of the CSV files and wondered too - There is a difference between the CSV data, game displayed data and then in game editor data - hard to know who/what to believe in those instances.

The ratings in the csv output are the unscouted values which IMO makes sense, otherwise, e.g. in Online Leagues, you would not need scouting anymore when we would show real ratings in the csv output.

Thanks for such a quick response Sebastian - Of course! From my point of view, utilizing the data in the CSVs was to increase immersion not break it - however, with the CSVs dumping the unscouted data - does that not render them 'unusable' to an extent? Especially when it comes to users, for example, why would you dump the data and analyze it when it's inaccurate compared to what you have done as a GM. You can make sure that everyone you want to take a look at is scouted in game but then that 'opinion' on the player is limited to the in game navigation, which is fine for say 1 or 2 players you want to take a look at, not much clicking involved there...HOWEVER, if it's a free agency class or a draft class that's a hell of a lot of clicks and menu navigation which takes away from the fun of actually analyzing these players.

I play a lot of Front Office Football 8 (not sure if you are familiar with that game at all) and in the instance when you dump draft or league data it is all from your scouts perspective, so you're not at an advantage over anyone by default - everyone has a scout (or team of scouts in FHM) who have a view on a player - so you're seeing in the CSV what you would see from YOUR in game information there. Is there any way of working something like this into FHM? I know you guys have done work on the CSVs/data output from the game more recently for which I've been a grateful enjoyer.

I can appreciate the desire to not give someone an unfair advantage, but in basically every league I've been in the commissioner is the one exporting the csv and they have edit access anyways. It's too bad we can't just have the commissioner get the true ratings or a checkbox to select which we get.

Ok, we made the following change now:

1. If you have a team, it will now export the scouted ratings.
2. If you don´t have a team, it will export the unscouted ratings (just like it is now).
3. In Commish mode you can enable the option to export the real ratings (no matter if you have a team or not).

I think that should cover all possible ways people want to use it.

Honestly, I just started laughing when reading this because of how great it is - I was excited that this got responded to so quickly in the first place but to see these changes were added so quickly as well is fantastic - thanks so much Sebastian - it's greatly appreciated!
