Is this a bug?

Today is 4/26/1922. I have found at least 4 players on the "list all MLB players" list with no team, but which do not appear on "hire a free agent" list and whose action menus have no option to offer a contract.

For instance, one is a fictional player, "Marco Baker." He appeared quite recently; not there when I looked sometime between the end of ST and Opening Day.

His "complete history" says released by a MLB team 01/01/1919, scouted by OSA each Jan. 1 since then; nothing else. Free agent type "none,"--this is reserve clause era, so all FAs say that--3 years, 5 days of MLB service, contract type minor league)

What would cause this?

It's now 5/11/1922 and there are now 113(!) free agents to whom offers cannot be made (in addition to 405 who can),

Has anyone seen this?

That sure is strange. I've never looked for discrepancies between the players list. I'm playing full minors so its seems almost impossible to do it.

Wow, I hadn't checked for weeks. Oct 9 2024 its 79,561. Why do people use different players, different lineups, different strategy, development, talent change randomness, and the development lab, but judge the game on whether it produces historical statistics?
