Players turned coaches observation and question.

In my current save I have turned some of the retired players into coaches. Specifically those with at least 100 in work ethic, intelligence, and adaptability.

I had thought the process after doing so would be that the AI would start them off as low level coaches and have them progress towards being managers. However, I'm finding that the first 4 I turned into coaches ended up skipping low level coaching positions and being hired into minor league manager positions. 3 of the 4 are now coaching in the major leagues after around 2-4 years. Have you all found that to be the case with players you've turned into coaches?

I have been a little frustrated to find that tracking the players I've turned into coaches in order to follow their coaching careers is difficult to do in that, unlike the list of active players, coaches I've got on a short list are not showing their names in bold so picking them out in the lists of personnel is not easily done. That would be ok if I could see their coaching history on the shortlist but it doesn't show there either. I realize that OOTP is about players much more than coaches and I'm sure this kind of thing isn't the devs likely give much thought too but weirdos like me are still interested in it.

Not really scientific but I looked up Dave Roberts and Bob Boone on Wikipedia. Ray Knight was mentioned on Boone's page so I clicked on him. None of them started coaching in the minors. So maybe OOTP is closer to realistic than your expectations.

Speaking of no minor league experience, in one of my saves I was considering taking Donn Clendenon away from his job as an attorney in Dayton OH and making him Pirate GM. However I ended the save before hiring him.
