Color barrier?

I have been playing a 19th century simulation and had a few negro league players in the minor leagues, and when i attempted to trade one, it said something like 'trading for this player would violate our league rules' in the response. I was like uhhh ok? assuming it was like a suspended player or something but then i noticed they were willing to accept a Japanese player and a white player but just out of curiosity i added and removed each negro league player i had to the deal one by one and it gave the same response about it being a rule violation. if thats a thing, is there a way to fix it?

League Menu > League Settings > Rules > Color Barrier

And take care that you uncheck that box not only for MLB, but for your minor leagues.
